I dare say that of the top 10, 6-7 of them have done more good than harm - Ballmer, Gates, Buffett for sure are positive, Bezos, Ellison, Page are debatable with Musk and Zuck the only clear evil ones. I don't know about Arnault (LVMH) and Ambani.

It only takes a few billionaires to be truly evil though to do some real damage to the world.

Now if billionaires need to fear for their lives in the same way that many of the poor and working class do then I'm sorta ok with that. Their kids go to private schools with little risk of a mass shooting. They never live with any doubt that a single medical incident could bankrupt them etc.

Most billionaires are normal people just keep to themselves. I bet most people can't name a billionaire that isn't on some list. They don't even want to be on a list. I've worked for Dennis Washington and he's just a normal old dude with a lot of toys. He's done a lot for his home town of Missoula.

There's a lot of billionaires that are basically unknown. If someone built a business in the 80's and sold it in the 90's for $200MM, they'd be a billionaire today if they just let that sit in the S&P. Hell, a lot of people were surprised Jimmy Buffett was a billionaire when he passed... lol

I don't think anyone's gunning for Paul McCartney or Bruce Springsteen but they're not in the business of screwing people over.

What an echo chamber this thread has become. A bunch of people grouping together for sympathy seeking.

Anything... regardless what it is, as long as it's something that Trump did or, now that Elon Musk is Trump's biggest supporter, Elon did is bad bad bad.

There is no discussion, no analysis or even a simple compare & contrast argument. Anything they do is bad.

The hatred or the extremeness of lefties continues to go into unbelievable levels.

This is, and will be, the downfall of liberals/dems.

You guys need to wake up and see the outside. Get the fuck out of your little cocoon and start reading from sources that you refuse to or move to places that were once hailed as liberal heavens and see what extreme liberalism did to them.

You guys keep believing that you are the good guys. You know who also believed that shit? Nazis and the Gestapos.

I don't believe I'm the good guy. But I also don't think I'm bad either. I do my decisions based on the idea of trying to stay on the right side of history. And much of it is based on common sense and science.

People are tired of this whole extreme liberalism shit. It's so out of touch with regular people. Heck, my lesbian tenant in the US voted for Trump for the first time since she hated what Dems had done to their community.

You can continue to believe that you are some kind of elitist looking from the top down and think "oh... these poor people/group/whatever need our help" and by doing something for them, we are the good guys.

FUCK THAT SHIT

The vast majority of them just want you to leave them the fuck alone and treat them like you'd treat anyone else. Don't pity them. They don't need that. They just want to live their own life.

by little cocoon do you mean a shitty little 400sq foot apartment? I do see your point about repetitive dribble though. one person alone has used the word "cuck" 27 times. talk about triggered.

68style 02-18-2025 04:43 AM

Literally nobody in this thread wants or cares about “extreme liberalism” your entire rant is sorely misdirected. Thanks for coming by to channel your pent up anger though, hope you feel better.

Hehe 02-18-2025 06:18 AM

I’m not angry at all. If anything, I’m happy that Trump won the election in a landslide. And I’m not even here to rub it on you.

I just come into this thread hoping to get some insight and knowledge from the other side knowing that the lefties here would be doing your lefties things. And maybe get entertained from stupid things you guys would post like the thread used to do.

And I always thought after the election, things would be more interesting as one might go into a self reflection mode or whatever.

Instead, still the same thing if not even worse. Any news update is “oh, look at the stupid shit trumpet or Elon has done today” picking out the slightest of things to talk about.

Beyond that, the hate is going through the roof. You guys might not be able to tell. But from a guy from the other end of the political spectrum, you guys really need to loosen up a bit. Even the worst person on my list doesn’t get the level of hate or attention you guys are giving to Trump, and that’s quite dangerous imo. And the fact that this echo chamber of yours just continues to amplify and encourage that.

That’s why I suggest to snap out of it a little bit. That’s not sane.

Badhobz 02-18-2025 06:32 AM

uhhhh first of all, welcome back!

I figure you might have been away because

1) cyberfuck left you stranded in the middle of no where
2) leftwing nutjobs have invaded your house and you had to fight them off
3) your wife and kids left you due to your elon/trump blowjob fest
4) your 50k USD in a single red envelope was too overwhelming this year and it finally broke a la george costanza's wallet and you spent weeks trying to recover all the cash flying around
https://media1.tenor.com/m/s4PRoSgrB...eld-george.gif

but you are right about the hate. people on both sides have gotten insane. that being said FUCK YOU AND YOUR POLITICAL OUTLOOK YOU WACKO.

Your boy(s) lie all the time, that doesn't mean you have to as well though.

You wrote like 3 times in your post about crazy liberal lefties (great disingenuous catch-all catchphrase use btw)... which nobody here is... so you are obviously angry about other stuff you read or angry about people hating your heroes and start railing about it to... clouds? Get off your horse.

RevYouUp 02-18-2025 07:03 AM

You guys literally suggested to kill all the billionaires. If that isn’t extreme I don’t know what is lol

I know it's hard to read with hehe's jizz in your eyes, but you missed like 8 posts up an analysis of billionaires and all he discussion on why that sentiment is irrational, nevermind saying you wouldn't be sad if a piece of shit like Elon or Trump died =/= organizing and plotting to kill them.

I also hope Putin dies too... O M G how libtard!!!

westopher 02-18-2025 07:12 AM

I'd like to tax most of them and kill a bunch to be quite literal.
Meanwhile you guys are supporting someone who's creating migrant concentration camps, suggesting we fire all women and coloured people because they were only hired due to DEI, so who's really more extreme than the other?

westopher 02-18-2025 07:16 AM

Oh don't forget your ethnic cleansing for real estate development and casinos in the Middle East.

pastarocket 02-18-2025 07:56 AM

I have been keeping in touch with my American cousins through Whatsapp chat groups.

They are at the age now where their kids are either starting university or are graduating from university this year.

The biggest concern for my cousins is the future of their children. Most of them are well off financially. High paying jobs as engineers or managers in real estate development.

They voice concern about Trump's dumbass tariff policies will mean a greater difficulty of finding good job opportunities in a US economy facing recession.

As for my aunt and uncle in Arizona, their concerns are about the higher price of groceries and healthcare because of Dumbass 47's inflationary policies and repealing of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

My cousins and uncle are shocked about how foolish Trump is in allowing an unelected, civilian in Musk to have the power to look at the government's money flow at the Department of Treasury, make hiring and firing decisions in the federal government, and the likelihood of conflicts of interest for Musk.

As my uncle said "Only a fool would talk so much almost every day and making dumb hiring decisions".

Hint, that's Cheeto.

underscore 02-18-2025 08:00 AM

Implying that everything they've done is "slight" is beyond wild.

But then so is gargling the balls of people who hate you because of your race.

unit 02-18-2025 08:17 AM

i hate how i have hehe on ignore but when someone quotes him i have to read his verbal diarrhea again. someone fix it?

Manic! 02-18-2025 11:04 AM

It's not just the left hating billionaires. People on the right hate Bill gates.

If the US tries to take Canada there will be a lot of dead Americans. America has never succeeded in taking over a country.

You sound like my one of my ignorant alt-right buddies who harps on the EXACT same thing. He works for the BCLDB, him and I debated so many times during this last trip to Colombia, and it would always go this way:

Me: "So tell me why you like Trump"

Him: "He tells it how it is, and I'm sick of all this woke liberal bullshit"

Me: "Ok cool. I don't like the wokey stuff either, but tell me what he'll do to help people outside of the culture stuff, policies, etc.? For example, you work in a Union for example, conservatives are classically anti-union and pro-privatization, don't you find it odd you support an agenda that would literally make your job redundant, eliminating it entirely?"

Him: "Ya sure, but I don't care about anything else, I just want this woke stuff over with" (then proceeds to insert something about feminism, or Trudeau).

End conservation.

Nothing ever goes anywhere with you guys, it's the same script.

How about the onus should be on you? What policies specifically is president Musk enacting that you think is beneficial to the public?

Harvey Specter 02-18-2025 11:12 AM

Never thought the left would agree with Bannon but here we are...

Quote:

Former White House chief adviser turned conservative commentator Steve Bannon blasted billionaire Elon Musk over his efforts to reduce the size of the federal government and gain more power in the U.S.

“Musk is a parasitic illegal immigrant,” he said during an interview with the website UnHerd. “He wants to impose his freak experiment and play-act as God without any respect for the country’s history, tradition or values.”

Bannon, a staunch populist who has used his widely followed “War Room” podcast to rail against the “elites” in society, has sharpened his attacks on Musk as the tech billionaire has grown closer to President Trump.

He has told Trump’s supporters Musk is not to be trusted and has argued there is a “fundamental chasm” between the billionaires who have aligned themselves with the president and his “Make America Great Again” movement.

“We will break these guys,” Bannon said during a recent episode of his podcast centered on Musk, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other leading tech moguls.

The Tesla CEO and Trump have argued Democrats and media outlets are trying to drive a wedge between them. The president has repeatedly voiced support for Musk and his efforts as the head of the new Department of Government Efficiency.

mikemhg 02-18-2025 11:16 AM

^I generally vehemently disagree with Bannon, but no one can say he's a stupid man, he's incredibility intelligent, well-read, but albeit evil in his intentions.

It has been interesting seeing his stance on Musk as of late, it's hard to tell if he's being cynical or truly honest here.

unit 02-18-2025 11:22 AM

i actually heard an interview on the radio w/ bannon and caught it halfway through and i didnt know who was speaking and found myself agreeing with a lot of the things that he said lol. as you guys say he is a very intelligent and well spoken guy, he's just a corrupt asshole.

Great quote from former Supreme Court justice Souter:

Quote:

“I don’t worry about our losing republican government in the United States because I’m afraid of a foreign invasion. I don’t worry about it because I think there is going to be a coup by the military, as has happened in some of the places. What I worry about is that when problems are not addressed, people will not know who is responsible. And when the problems get bad enough ... some one person will come forward and say, ‘Give me total power and I will solve this problem.’ That is how the Roman republic fell.”

Souter concluded, “If we know who is responsible, I have enough faith in the American people to demand performance from those responsible. If we don’t know, we will stay away from the polls. We will not demand it. And the day will come when somebody will come forward, and we and the government will in effect say, ‘Take the ball and run with it. Do what you have to do.’ That is the way democracy dies. And if something is not done to improve the level of civic knowledge, that is what you should worry about at night.”

SkinnyPupp 02-18-2025 12:23 PM

It's good to get different perspectives, and I have been asking for people to speak out so they can out themselves if they want to be Trumpists, and let's find out if they think they have a good reason for it. But when you see stuff like "people were sick of woke" and "extreme lefties" and "talk about triggered" you know exactly where they are coming from.

It means 9 years of constant information spam has worked on a lot of people, even some Canadians. So now we need to hope enough of them come to the realization that their brains have been melted, so they can try to do something to change things (and that doesn't mean simply voting Democrat in 4 years)

Hardly any IRL person cares about the nonexistent culture war or "woke bullshit". You saw what the top reasons people had for voting. They aren't all Trumpists, they just want to be able to afford eggs. The anti woke weirdos are just the loudest ones online. Unfortunately, a lot of them were duped and are now everyone paying for it, even outside the country.

Tax billionaires, kill evil people

100%. Algorithms and bots are pushing nonsense, and we must remember: divide and conquer has always been the strategy. The real issue is the manipulation, distracting people from what truly matters.

all of hehe's post are a wall of text starting with "bahaha liberals" and a bunch of nonsensical projectionism with the gross overuse of the word 'liberal' used as a pejorative. i can live without it

westopher 02-18-2025 02:04 PM

Yeah Honda at least can form a coherent thought in less than 3000 words. I like arguing with him because he can at least process information and then respond to it. Hehe is interesting in the sense that he at least shows you how the trumpets that can't process information think and how a certain portion of the population is pointless to even present information to.
