The installation of White House Liaisons at all regulartory agencies is a straight up copying form the CCP playbook. The difference is -- CCP installs a "party secretary" at every institution that has the power to overrule all decisions made by the institution, and gives out party directives to the institutions. In the US, we can expect this WH liaison to pretty much do the same thing.

On the very thin surface, this is a logical explanation. However, it ignores the fact that his involvement in Paypal was 23 years ago, he was a much different person, Paypal was regulated, and the amount of information Paypal had/has access to is VASTLY different (re: minute) than what the IRS or TD has.

Surrounding his posts (above his) were ones from "poliical scientists" in the US saying that it's Ukraine that wants war and Putin and Trump want peace and Putin lost a lot of troops getting what he has so he should be allowed to keep it nobody reasonable would give that up after what he's spent on it. Below his post was "I wonder why Delta hasn't released any info on the pilots of the plane that crashed in Toronto, hiding another DEI failure?"
Anyone ever listen to Mearsheimer ? Gives a “realist” perspective on what’s happening w world politics. Doesn’t seem to stand too much on one side of the other but I suppose if you don’t like his take ( not realism) then he might not be your cup of tea.
Hearing him talk about the US vis a vis Ukraine/russia/Europe and Israel/palestine has made me reconsider my positions somewhat.
Bannon is quite intelligent ( albeit flawed )and has a definite populist position that I don’t know exactly lines up with conservative views . Which seems to me what trump is as well. Clearly not a Regan/Bush/ or even Romney conservative. Perhaps that’s why he can cut across traditional lines at times.
I haven't listened to him specifically but am familiar with Realist politics - I generally subscribe to a lot of the theories of realist politics (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Realis...onal_relations)). Nations are inherently self interested and should behave as such. I'm really rusty on the specifics though as I haven't studied it since the 90's.
I think Liberals/Left believe too much in altruistic benevolent foreign relations while Conservatives (who are more realists) are overly short term in their thinking - isolationism doesn't lead to being a world power. What Trump and his criminals are doing now with foreign relations will undermine American power for decades and likely will spell the end of America as the world's greatest power. The path for China to become the next great power is being cleared by Trump (even if he's actually working for Russia - Putin doesn't have the resources to be the next great power).
I think American global power peaked in the 80's under Reagan and subsequent Presidents either were too weak (Bush I, Bush II, Trump) or too idealistic (Clinton/Obama) to continue that expansion (much less maintain it) as China rose.
It's sorta amazing that the smart Cons aren't in a bigger rage about what Trump is doing to American power - this is their wheelhouse, this is the stuff they know matters - they're letting Trump destroy 80 years of being world's great power in a matter of weeks and not doing anything about it. The external destruction will be even worse than the destruction of their society domestically. Edit: I haven't followed what Bannon has said too much as I just think of him as a Nazi but he is a smart guy and one of the few Cons who can make a coherent argument about Conservative policy (even if I disagree in many cases) - I should probably read up on his ideas more.

Hard to really say what Cheeto and Twitler are up to with there foreign policy but you might be able to make the case he’s trying to bring Russia into the fold so to say as a counter to china. However this seems to be alienating Europe for obvious reasons . They may have enough hubris to think they can accomplish both .
I dont really believe the idea that Cheeto is a Russian asset. I just fail to see the motivation. Looks more to me he is trying to secure a legacy of some sort.

US President Donald Trump called Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky “a dictator,” escalating a public war of words between the two leaders that started when Trump falsely accused Ukraine of starting the war with Russia.

Here's the "Truth Social" post the CNN article references. He's parroting everything Putin says at this point - maybe he's not actually a Russian asset but he sure acts like one. I suspect he actually isn't because he's actually too senile/dumb to need to be an asset, he just falls for anything put in front of him. It's his staff that are the Russian assets (Patel, Gabbard etc).
I hope the EU can get their shit together. Poland is already on it's way to building a huge army with South Korea not only selling them planes and tanks, but helping setup their own factories to continue building them. France, Germany, and the UK have the ability to do it too, they just need the will. That's the only way Russia is going to stop before they hit the Carpathians/Germany.
The US is fucked for more than four years. This is going to carry on until something drastic happens... and whatever that is will scar them for a generation. I hope we can limit our participation in whatever fuckery happens.
I have a hard stomach for these kinds of things but even I feel like I need to step away from the news at least a few days a week right now.

There is a zero percent chance the US will be having an election in 4 years. Either trump will be forcibly removed before then, or there will be something put forward that allows him to delay the election or cancel due to some fraudulent emergency measures

They have yet been able to defeat Ukraine, and have wrecked their finances/resources as a result of this solitary war.

If the US pulls out of NATO, there is no more NATO. If the US pulls troops out of Europe (which Trump is saying they will do [edit: but as of a few hours ago have now back tracked]), then what?
The Polish PiS (Right wing, pro-russia) party is actively trying to push out the current president via the courts. And if you believe Anne Applebaum, the PiS were very close to cementing in an autocratic state only a few years ago. If they come back, then what? No one will be able to effectively go help the baltics and I don't think Moldova is going to have much stopping power.
edit: Obviously this is very speculative. But it's a real enough threat that the EU leaders (not delegates) are holding emergency in person meetings to discuss it (with success in Ukraine being the best solution).

Wait till Trump offers up the US Military to Russia. Half joking. Can the US Military handle multiple conflicts at once - invading Canada, Panama, Greenland, and Ukraine? How many hockey sticks, bananas, snowballs, and smoking hot Slavic women can we round up to fight them?
Seriously, every member of the G6 needs to re-arm their militaries whether it's to defend Ukraine or to defend themselves. America is in cahoots with Russia now. Even if you don't buy it fully do you want to bet against it?
