It's called out with one group of bastards, and in with a new one.
This is one of the primary reasons democracy doesn't work in the middle east -- a place full of sectarianism, where groups will happily kill each other in a never-ending feud over who worships the false idol better.

Anyone care to enlighten me on the point of retaliation of tariffs?
What do we get out of it other than increased prices of American goods and possibly more demand for Canadian goods?
The True Cost of Tariffs and Power Consolidation
The massive transfer of wealth during COVID, followed by the brewing USA-Canada trade war of 2025, isn’t some random event. It’s a full-on power grab. The elites have wrapped the common man in a vice, and every twist and turn is meant to tighten their grip. Mark Carney’s elevation to Prime Minister of Canada? It’s a joke. He’s a puppet of the banking establishment, the same system that’s been fucking picking your pockets for decades. With his history in both the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, this guy’s as deep into the financial game as it gets. This isn’t about the people, it’s about keeping the elites in charge and making sure they stay on top.
Trade War? It’s All a Scam
So, you wanna know about tariffs? They’re not some reaction to "unfair trade." This is a charade to keep the working class down while the rich keep stacking their billions. Tariffs? Sure, they’ll make the goods you depend on more expensive, but don’t worry, the bankers won’t miss a beat. They’ll keep their yachts, their jets, and their power while you’re left with a hole in your pocket and a smirk on their faces. Every time someone in a suit talks about “retaliation,” remember that it’s you who pays the price. The elites aren't looking out for your best interests. They’ve been playing you like a fiddle, and you’re none the wiser. These fuckers know how to bleed you dry while making it look like you're the problem.
Carney’s "Unity" Is Just More Bullshit
Carney’s been talking a lot about "unity" and using his "emergency powers" to get Canada’s economy "strong" again. But let’s be real here... an economy for who? When he talks about unity, he’s really talking about bringing everyone in line with the will of the elite few. The same people who’ve been profiting off your misery for years. His "emergency powers"? That’s just code for making moves to protect the banks and ensure they stay in control, while throwing scraps to the rest of us. Don’t buy into the narrative. Politicians like Carney are trained to say the opposite of the truth. "Unity" isn’t about the common people coming together. It’s about consolidating power for the elites. These moves he’s making? It’s all to secure their position while squeezing you harder.
The Elite Takeover Is Complete
Carney’s prime ministership is just another notch on the belt of a system that’s stacked the deck against you from the start. We’re living in an era where bankers run the show, and the government is just a convenient tool to tighten the noose. This shit’s been in motion for generations. Think about it... the massive increase in the price of a simple home, an education, food... these bankers control the money supply, they dictate who gets credit, and they own most of the assets. When banks like JPMorgan, Rothschilds, and Goldman Sachs run the financial markets, they’re the ones who decide what happens with your life. This isn’t about the free market, it’s about the power to set prices, interest rates, and wage levels, making sure that your labor only ever goes to line their pockets. Meanwhile, the real power is in the hands of the few who control the money and the fucking world. They’ve turned the system into a rigged game, and you’re stuck holding the losing hand. When the monied aristocracy wins, you lose, plain and simple. Honest, hard work turned into side-hustles and hoping a meme coin hits the moon before you're left holding the bag. And don't think Trump is somehow the alternative... that fucker's in on it, too.
Wake Up, This Isn’t Just Politics—It’s War on the Common Man
The so-called “economic policies” we’re seeing aren’t about the betterment of society. They’re about control. The rich get richer, the poor stay poor, and the middle class keeps getting squeezed. Carney’s election is proof of that. It’s one more step toward a future where your voice doesn’t matter, and your survival depends on the whims of those who already own everything. The banks have your future in their hands, and they’ve got no intention of letting you have a say in it. The game’s rigged against you, and you don’t even realize it. The central banking system’s sole goal is to enslave you through debt, manipulate markets, and funnel wealth from the bottom to the top. The banks inflate the currency, creating economic bubbles that burst, forcing you into bigger debt just to survive. Then they swoop in, buying up everything on the cheap when you lose it all. These banks own everything—the government, the media, even your future. They’ve put the common man in a chokehold, and with Carney as PM, the squeeze is only gonna get tighter. So, don’t kid yourself—this isn’t about “trade,” it’s about the elites tightening their hold on your life, your money, and your fucking freedom.

The trade war will not end until Trump's approval rating and the economy goes to the toilet. The only two measures donald cares about. retaliation efforts should target that.

I should've sold it all on Friday and wait for this to 4-year storm to blow over to go back in.
My one smart move I made last week was to sell off $55k of Costco shares before earnings. They had a weak report and I bought it all back at $47k - it's dipped a bit more since but at least I'm only down $1500 rather than nearly $10k. I flipped the savings into VXUS (international ETF) and that's only gone down a couple percent so far and should be more stable than my US portfolio.
I’ve had my money mostly in gics since a year ago after we bought McMansion. Kinda glad I did that instead of gambling with this trump idiot in charge.
