My question is simply to ask if there are mods that review newly created accounts to verify if they are duplicates of existing members, especially if there is a 6-month ban bet in place here.
What is the point of a politics thread if some posters feel the need to create troll accounts to push their viewpoints? My comments are an observation of that, not a debate. | LOL. How pathetic.

Fyi, there are no duplicate accounts used in the last 3 pages of this thread.
And I feel for the kid above. Smirk or not, he's a 14 year old high school junior. That's the worst age of all to be judged as a human being.

Not a great week for the blue check mark intolerant left. First claiming they would murder an infant (Time machine/Baby Hitler scenario). Then they call for violence, death, and or life destruction of teenagers.

^ I wish everything wasn't so divided... like there's only 2 options in people's minds... ie: I'm totally against Trump, but I also hate these far left people just as much. I saw the video before the kid even released a statement or other videos came out and I was like okay... he's just smiling... where's the racism? I feel bad for the kid, any single one of us can easily step on the wrong side of one of these social media assassination attempts in this day and age.
That said, you're asking for it these days wearing that hat given what it's identified with. Why not just throw your BoSox one on and be done with it instead of always trying to make a statement unless you're fully prepared to deal with the fallout.

I agree that you should typically be a little more strategic and exercise caution with things like your example of wearing a Pens jersey at a Flyers game.
I don't see how it relates to this event though. The kids are in Washington at the Lincoln Memorial. If you support Trump it's THE piece of clothing that you would wear to show support. It's not like he was at some Democratic convention.
Also, it's the job of the media to relay facts, not to discriminate based on political leanings. This kind of story should destroy the credibility of the so called "journalists" reporting it.

if that's the case, i haven't seen much of it by comparison.

The Democrats are acting like idiots. As we see in the public opinion polls and videos above.
The Republicans are acting like idiots. As we see on a much larger scale buy shutting down the gov't.
In the end, the Americans are looking like idiots on the global stage.
Wearing a MAGA hat is basically wearing your unpopular political opinion on your head.
There is no way that someone with any sense of intelligence can support what the current POTUS is doing. Both Dems and the GOP agree on that.

tell me why the dems are completely opposed to funding a barrier. the same ones who were in favor of it under obama.
until i hear a legitimate answer to that question, i can't see how anyone can put the blame on him for this shutdown.

trump is now offering a temporary stop to the shutdown for a large down payment on the wall. trump is scrambling and does not have a leg to stand on. He will cave.

The MSM empires continue to make billions off the brains of people who lack the willpower to pursue information with critical thought and introspection. Dog forbid people use 100% of their brain and not 10% that was a busted myth though I'm starting to have doubts on that now (Twitter being exhibit A).
Meanwhile, real issues (you know, the ones that are still issues after decades of non-correction) get swept aside because everyone wants to jump on the latest 15 min of tabloid style fame not seen since the 80s.
Trump is president = Big $$$ for Leftist Media. Hit pieces & clickbait media aplenty. Spam it across all accessible platforms to generate revenue. It amazes me how many Op-Eds masquerading as news stories infiltrate news aggregator sites on the main page (some say opinion but many don't).
Trump is president = Big $$$ for Rightest Media. Just have to counter the hysteric laden articles from the left. Fact check, counterpoints etc.
Voting Trump was a double or nothing gamble for people fed up with establishment style government. When does the change actually happen? Does anyone think Hilary would have done anything on a progressive stance? Ted Cruz? When your life is falling more and more into despair, you can only exercise so many options otherwise beyond your control.
But hey, I'm just the type of guy who lights his roach from a dumpster fire.

until i hear a legitimate answer to that question, i can't see how anyone can put the blame on him for this shutdown. | When the facts change or the situation changes, are people not allowed to change their minds? I don't keep track of it but maybe during Obama's presidency there was a big influx of illegal land crossings and a wall was necessary? Maybe there currently isn't enough to warrant having a wall?
If they were in favour of it under Obama and the republicans wanted it back then as well then why wasn't it built under Obama? Seems like they would've all agreed to it back then. Or did those republicans vote no to it?

Left, right, or anywhere in between.
We agree on that baseline? Quote:

We agree on that baseline? | Agreed, it's just common sense though isn't it? I mean... I don't think it's right that I can't wear a Manchester United t-shirt while bar-hopping in Liverpool without getting bottled in the back of the head either... but that didn't stop it from happening..........

He is only reopening until Feb 15. He may shutdown again or go the route of national emergency.
If "no border security plan can never work without a physical barrier" when will the northern border wall start construction and get funding?

if the gov't gets shutdown again for a wall, welfare should get unbanned... until it opens again.
