like the Lavalin scandal 'but i was standing up for the jobs of Canadians'?
like selling Saudi regime armour vehicles 'securing thousands of jobs'?
Well the Lavalin position was a complete fraud. And if it makes you feel any better the Saudi military, despite having top-notch equipment, is really ineffective because the people behind the equipment suck at using it
Also Biden has zero chance of winning against Trump. In fact I bet he will be found medically unfit on the campaign trail and the Dems will try to stuff Bernie or Hillary in his place. American politics on both sides of the table have completely lost their way, the whole system needs to be blown up and started anew. Including with term limits for congress and senate.
I think the Presidency is an impossible job and obviously decisions are made by committee. It’s not that trump is just sitting at a desk all day saying yes or no to idea after idea put in front of him
However if you can watch Biden and think he will be a better president you’re crazy, the guy is senile. I’d say it’s almost guaranteed trump will get re-elected especially after all this covid shit because people as a nation will feel like they want to be (at least visually) in a position of strength on a global scale. Biden doesn’t exactly give off that vibe.
Also in terms of political party stances it’s hardly the time to shift gears and revert policies that the opposition implemented while in power which virtually always happens

Despite everything Trump has said in press briefings or tweets, he does one thing that will get re-elected - he puts America first. This is something our leadership fails to do. I'd vote for red because the democrats have no spine and concept of nationalism. Too many people vote based on popularity, not policy. I'd vote for anyone in this country that puts forth a 'Canada First' policy.
He “says” he puts America first!
Says.
Not does! Just says.
Big difference from actually putting America first. Big big difference.
Corporations first
Political allies first
Friends first
Business partners first
Family first
Biggest donators and allies first
His own business and political and personal interests first
... and then if there’s anything left over after that, yah sure throw the American public some scraps to fight over.
But yah... like you said right? It’s a great slogan, glad you’d dig deeper before voting lulz

Totally disagree there, please tell me what evidence supports the fact that Biden would be a less competent president than Trump?
Don't bother posting videos of Biden gaffes, as we've seen them. The things coming out of Trump's mouth in a daily basis truly makes me wonder if he has Syphilis.
What I'm fairly confident on is that Biden won't fill his cabinet full of the clown car of sycophants that Trump has. His cabinet won't be filled with his own family members, along with political rejects who would never receive a position in any legitimate presidential cabinet.
I'm no fan of Biden, but to put him and Trump on the same standing is a false equivalency if I've ever seen one.
Besides, for those voting for Biden should know damn well, they're not voting for him specifically, but for the people he surrounds himself with, and the agenda put forward.
If he wins, he will 100% be a one-term president, and I am very confident he will put credible staff forward within his administration, and not the revolving door of idiots that Trump has done thus far.
Think of how many people have come and gone from Trump's office, one wonders who will be left by 2020. He already can't fill current positions because no one credible wants to work for him:
So enough with the false equivalencies, it's ridiculous and disingenuous. Are you practicing cognitive dissonance here, or are you being actually serious?
Common sense: “Must be a horrible place to work with piss poor management”
Trump supporters: “He’s draining the swamp!!!” (While conveniently forgetting they were largely Trump’s own choices in the first place)
Well, here’s the first of what I’m sure will be many crooked deals uncovered that were made with all the unmonitored disbursement of bailout funds in the good old USA by “America first” president trump:
Not saying Trump isn't complicit, but do you really think he could have stopped the establishment Republicans alone? Did any Democrats, especially the Justice Democrats, vote against the spending bills? Did they get universal healthcare, a universal basic income, or anything added to these bills to actually help the working class? Either they were too concerned with pleasing the donor class like the Republicans, or they went along with it to advance their political careers and be bought into the establishment. Do progressives really think that by handing Biden their vote, he will give them what they want once elected? Why would he? He already got their vote.

I actually agree with you Betty, however there are some nuanced differences in terms of what the Democrats had fought for within the bill itself, most notably for employment assistance for workers:
"A review of the CARES Act suggests Democrats did manage to influence its direction, shifting some of its aid to individuals toward lower-income families, while imposing some conditions on its aid to businesses—changes that Trump is already taking credit for. They also inserted some oversight provisions that Trump has already vowed to ignore.
But Republicans won some huge concessions from Democrats, most notably a $500 billion bailout fund for big businesses and a $170 billion tax break for real estate investors like the president. And Democrats didn’t get much that Trump didn’t actually want in exchange for helping him pour cash into the locked-down economy in an election year. They didn’t guarantee postal voting in the November elections or win any assurances that the Trump administration will start complying with House subpoenas or get permanent stabilizers that could ensure fiscal support for the economy in future crises even if a Democrat were president."
I find it absolutely mind-blowing that anyone can support a party that are literally fighting the idea of postal voting in the time of this pandemic. Trump said it himself, if postal voting across the country was enacted, a Republican would never be voted into office again.
A surprising Freudian slip of such, one that a Republican would never outwardly admit. If their policies and agenda are so repugnant to the general public that they rely on gerry-mandering and voter suppression in order to remain in power, what kind of democracy is that?
If the Republicans had the leadership and a sound plan for the country, why do they have to resort to so many unscrupulous means in order to retain power?
Mail in voting should be a no brainer that both sides can agree on, but for the Republican leadership, not a chance. They know that if all people had the access and ability to vote with a general ease, they have no chance in hell in winning.
We take for granted here in Canada how easy our government makes it for us to vote.
The Democrats are a constant disappointment for me, and I can admit that. But there is a definitive difference between the two parties here at least in terms of their outward agendas.
Yes the rich tend to get their way with both parties, we know that.
I'm not happy that Biden may be the pick here, but ultimately people forget, when you vote for a President, or Prime Minister for that matter, you're not necessarily expecting all issues to be handled they way you'd prefer them to be.
You're voting for the message from the bully pulpit (whether it's enacted or not is the issue here). I am confident that Biden's agenda will be a more positive one then Trump's. I know his choice of judges will be more ethical, the Democrats are not beholden to a White Nationalist Christian movement that the Republicans are pushing here. I am confident he will surround himself with better people, and at the very least the progressive side of the party will have SOME semblance of a voice, even if it's mitigated to a degree.
Trump is decisive. He sows racism, and foments hatred within people, he is not a healthy spokesperson to have for any multicultural democracy. As a country, I truly believe another 4 years of him will result in some type of a serious collapse in government (arguably it has already happened, in fact).
Such collapse directly affects Canadians in a very negative way.
Sticking it to the "Libs" should not overshadow some semblance of stability, and an overall future here.
