I thought this was a very well done interview by the interviewer and team. I don't remember the last time I was able to sit through an entire Trump interview like this.
Having been around teachers and newer parents recently, the interviewers mannerisms and speech patterns reflect very closely of those that regularly converse with a toddler or younger child. Lot of respect to him for being able to sit through that without losing their cool, you lose Trump when you do that imo. He pressed when he knew he could press, and kept enough praises going when suitable to keep leading him on to keep talking.
Jonathan is an excellent interviewer, been following him for a while now.
Can you believe he's only 35 years old?
Watching the full interview, I can't help but compare Obama, and how if he carried himself in such a manner during an interview, how quickly the Republicans would have the pitchforks out.
I cannot comprehend how anyone can support this man. Imagine if a CEO of any Fortune 500 company conduct himself in an interview like this? Do Trump supporters really think this represents a knowledgeable and competent individual?
You really see the parallels of how Trump debates in relation to other right-wing folks. The constant interruptions, the lack of addressing actual posed facts, the meandering and ramblings of the same incorrect statements and ideas.
He beats you with his bullshit while ignoring any questions or counter arguments, you essentially have to simply give up and move on, as exampled in this interview. His supporters will look that as "owning" the interviewer.

Feels like political arguments on this forum.
Have you watched literally anything trudeau says in the house of commons or in a committee hearing? It isn't a "right wing folks" thing. It's a shitty politician thing. Morneau is just as bad. And so is Freeland when she has to speak. It's like the liberals goto trainings on how to divert and it's embarrassing.

Of course I have, your issue is with politician speak then, which I also detest. Trudeau has never been known as a master orator, quite the contrary, in fact. I don't think he's a proficient speaker at all, he's rather rudimentary.
I however have never seen Trudeau conduct himself or speak in an interview in such a piss poor manner as Trump.
I'm not here caping for Trudeau, my comparison was to Obama.

Obama was one of the best leader speakers in recent history. Its one of the main reasons he is held in such high regard, after not really achieving much during his presidency.
You directly stated it was a "right wing folks" thing. I was pointing out that the left wing leadership in canada is equally embarrassing, or perhaps more so.

My brother was in a few of the same classes as Trudeau was way back in UBC, and according to him, Trudeau was often a fantastic speaker at the in-class presentations. His speeches were often very moving, and at times were able to move people to tears because of the bleeding heart leftard nature of his.
Apparently, he was also very popular among the lady classmates as well.
Of course, being in front of the same class that you spend an entire semester with, and being in front of a ton of "hostile" reporters with bloodlust on anything you might screw up on are 2 very different things.
As "useless" as Obama was, I don't really blame him for not being able to achieve very much during his presidency. But that's another discussion for another thread.
