(yes I’m being extreme but so are you) | How exactly am I being extremist? Argentina isn't even the worst of socialism. It's just what I have first hand experience.
You think that what I say about Argentina are extreme cases.
Did you ever have to be woken up with a gun pointed at your head, tortured and seeing your family being tortured so they could find out where we hid all the valuables?
Do you ever have to worry about the motorcyclist coming at you might take away your phone/bag/backpack?
Do you ever have to worry that police wouldn't take your case after you've been just robbed in broad daylight?
That's what people in Argentina live day in and day out... ask anyone living in Argentina and they would tell you it's a daily occurrence.
You have no fucking idea what's like to live in an environment like that and what a privilege it is to be in a society like Canada. It's like Marie-Antoinette "let them have cake". Because she has no fucking clue what's the life outside her bubble is like.
So, think again about what extremist is before you start typing next time.

I don't care about Argentina, that's not where your kid is growing up right? Your views of liberalism in North America are overtly extreme so I'm simply illustrating overtly extreme conservative mantra... in North America.
Also one of my best friends has been living in Argentina for years bud, yah he has to drive 6 hours the next country over every 4-5 months to take out USD and bury it in his yard so thieves don't take it, but he fucking loves it there with his wife and kid. To each his own.

To each his own. | Of course you don't care. And that's because you have never experienced what a fail liberal policy leads to. You have always lived in that bubble where conservative is outdated and progressive/liberalism are the HIP thing to do.
I'm just telling you that liberalism, or the quasi-socialism that we have here wouldn't work and would lead to disaster, because we simply have too many freeloaders who don't understand socialism fully.
In order for socialism or liberalism to work property, there's a prerequisite that needs to happen, which is the very basic conservative value of self-discipline.
Before you can start caring about others, you need to be responsible for yourself, your families and your actions.
We then can pour in whatever surplus that we collectively generate as a society to help those who can't make on their own.
Look at cities in America where liberalism had strong foundation... San Francisco, Seattle, LA, NYC. They all have their share of severe homelessness problem. Why? Because people don't respect themselves. Many just freeload whenever they can. And the policy just incentivize such behavior.
I don't think I'd ever be able to convince any hardcore lefties here, because it requires one to just one day click... to that point that one wakes up from all narratives that one's being surrounded by.
The only suggestion I have for lefties are two things. First, you are free and entitled to your own opinion, BUT respect others having a different one. All these cancel culture and social justice is just sickening to me. Why is it that if someone has a different opinion than yours, you'd have to bash them to oblivion? It's just different. We can all agree to disagree, but there's no need to extinguish the other opinion. You know what happened in history when people in power did that? Genocides, holocaust... etc.
And when being presented a narrative or new piece of information... don't just take those little bites. If it was something someone said... take the time, listen to the whole thing originally and see what the context was, then form your own opinion about it. Far too many young people would see a headline, and think that's the whole story to it. When in fact, you are just being led to the narrative the author wanted you to see. You do that when it's your investment... you don't just take what somebody told you... you do your own due diligence and form the opinion. Why wouldn't you do that for the other aspects in your life?

I’m centrist at best... fiscally conservative and ideologically liberal minded. I think it’s safe to say you’re somewhat the same. I don’t agree with handing everything out to everyone blindly and I know lots of people rip the system off. I’ve administered some of those systems I know how much they get cheated... I’m not totally on board with the whole gender role thing but it doesn’t get in my way so I’m not going to hate. Fiscally I think we pay too much taxes and a lot of it gets wasted. That said, when appropriate, I see the benefit in sharing and I think the current structure of wealth distribution is skewed and basically shit for everyone except a few at the top.
TLDR Trump sucks and fuck him and people like him / who like him.

| These cities have a large homeless population because of the same reason Vancouver/Victoria has one - a mild climate. Live anywhere else in North America and you will freeze to death in the winter or die of heat exhaustion during the summer.
But let's surmise that the homeless population is caused by overly liberal policies. So what? These cities have abundant economies and attract the best and brightest from around the world FOR THAT VERY REASON. Does it also attract riff-raff as well? Of course it does, but you seem to want to throw out the baby with the bathwater. I would still rather live in a "shithole" diverse west coast or NE city in the US (pre-covid of course) than some conservative backwater small town that somehow you claim to represent "family values". If you hate it here so much, why don't you move to one of these places? There's tons of options like that in Alberta/Saskatchewan. Heck even BC.
And honestly the whole gender roles/cancel culture is just a red herring for the alt-right. Who the fuck cares? Every generation goes through this self-righteous phase. The hippies, PC culture in the 90s. If you are against people having equal rights now you probably would have been against civil rights in the 60s. And unless you are a celebrity that revels in harassing women in the workplace or in dating you don't have anything to worry about. How does any of this affect you in day to day life?

I'm sure NYC has a mild weather.
It's still down to the policy. You don't see any conservative major cities with homelessness problem as severe as them.

Yep. Definitely no homelessness in Florida. For sure. Or Texas. Or Louisiana.

Like Westopher said, Florida a warm republican state has a huge homeless population as well. How do you explain that?

Cities with more regulated housing markets, tolerability of sleeping on the street, substitutes to housing (homeless shelters), and yes - the characteristics of individuals in a community too...heck..even incarceration rates. Theres rarely ever a "boil down to one reason" in anything that is related to society. That's not to say its incorrect, but an invitation to open your mind up a bit more and look at everything.
Theres a lot of the word narrative and leftyrighty being used to generalize people with their own beliefs and value systems. That in itself is a narrative lmao. Quite frankly...its a very lazy way to generalize something that has so many intersectionalities.
I get that it can be difficult in making sense of others' views...which is why we tend to make silly generalizations...but taking these shortcuts will get nowhere.

you think cheating IRS will hurt his chances? GHBTP didn't | As far as I can tell he didn't cheat the IRS. His accountants found loopholes to pay less taxes.
I highly doubt anyone here has voluntarily paid more in taxes than what their accountants can have deducted.

Biden landed body blows on Bunker Boy tonight during this first debate.
Sleepy Joe made strong points about a public option for the US healthcare system. All Cheeto could do was keep yapping about Bernie Sanders and left wing policy in response to questions about health care policy. Lowering the price of subscription drugs with Cheeto's plan. Doubtful.
Biden used his body language effectively to talk directly to Americans watching tonight's debate. He said "This is about your family. It's about you." He looked directly into the camera.
All Bunker Boy was doing throughout the debate was trying to use a bully tactic of non stop interruption and very rude methods of to derail the debate.
Trumpy was the ultimate troll of debates tonight.
