If there is a 1st round pick involved you can all but guarantee we win the lottery even if we finished 15th after all we are all Canucks and that's Canuck luck.

Ottawa is in a shitty situation. They need to trade their best dman but at the same time they can't finish in the bottom of the standings or Colorado wins with their lottery pick.
If anything, Ottawa might try to look for the best return players who can play now and help them string in some wins.
Edler / Stecher / Goldobin / + prospect say juolevi? for EK and Ryan?
- Cheap/broke owner
- Player publicly stated he wants out
- Team publicly stated they're trading him
Those are pretty much the 3 things that you DON'T want the public to know when trying to make a deal
With all 3 of those factors in play, any GM worth a damn would either try and bend them over in a horrible deal (Dahlen for Burrows) or simply wait them out. The longer EK65 goes into the season, the worse a return the Sens are going to get.
ok question here...Ottawa traded their 1st round pick in the matt Duchene deal to Colorado but Ott had a choice to either trade their 1st last draft or next years 1st in the draft coming up. Can they somehow trade that as well now to a different team? What I am getting is can Ott now keep their 1st which originally could have went to Col but now trade that to a different team? For example Ott keeps their 1st but now trades the rights to say Van in a EK deal so now Van has to send their 1st in 2019 draft to Col instead. I mean I know Van wouldn't do it but just food for thought if you guys can understand my jumble.

Nope. It has to be Ottawa’s 1st rounder. They can’t say flip a player for the 30th pick and trade it to Colorado. That’s why they’re so fucked. Hahah
Good to hear that Benning has come out and confirmed that any trade would definitely not include any high picks for next years draft, which so happens to be in Van.
If EK continues to play for the Sens during this upcoming season, it will be interesting to see what kind of lowball offers that GMs would offer to Ottawa.
