I have a Samsung 8s+ that I am trying to put a gmail account to my email icon folder NOT THE GMAIL ONE.

I am using FIDO as the service provider. When I go into email settings, I add my new email information and Password. When I hit sign in an error message pops up saying username/PW is incorrect or the POP3/IMAO access isn't turned on for this account.

I know userid and PW is correct so what's the issue? I went to Samsung to help me but they couldn't figure this out as well....

incoming server:
pop3 server
pop.gmail.com

security type:
SSL
PORT
995


outgoing server:
smtp.gmail.com

security type:
SSL

Port 465

are you trying to add it to the default Samsung email app? and are you using full email addressin settings instead of just sn? (name@gmail.com vs name)

You probably have 2FA enabled so you'll need an app password to login.

Yes, I am trying to add this on the Samsung email app.
