What a silly bear question

It helps to know what car to look out for with damage?

Might be lucky enough it’s a neighbors or in the area.

Thanks coneZone! Looks about right!

good guess but the clear part isn't the right shape on the fusion. I think Conezone hit the nail on the head.

Initially i thought Ford Fusion as well, but the shape didn't really match... and considering in the the low height of the collision, the Fusion tail light, especially the reverse lens, is too high. Then i factored in the lens style is most likely a domestic with large red/white low-set lens in the corner. After a number of different vehicles i searched, i came up with the Caravan, thanks to Producer mentioning the honeycomb pattern.

If it was a car their bumper would've hit first, not the tailight.

Looks like a van of some sort; caravan, Chev city express, Nissan nv or possibly Mercedes sprinter

call the non-emerg and explain you have a honeycomb reverse light as evidence...but not the plate, or make (is it a Dodge, Ram or Chrysler?), model, colour, driver description

I understand even with a 2ch dash cam might not have captured this

a better thread would be hey this happened at x place and y time...anyone see anything?

If you know what kind of car it is, is: the purpose of the thread, at least you can scour the neighbourhood looking for a Caravan with a broken tail light and even match up the piece of you get lucky.

Better than the alternative... which is absolutely nothing.

Now if an RS member can find that actual minivan with a broken tail light ... that'd be impressive.

Thanks coneZone! Looks about right!
This is exactly what happened with my mom's car. Her car got hit at her house and a piece of the tail light from the other vehicle was found on the ground. A neighbour was able to tell her it was a "red KIA van" but unfortunately he was not able to get a license plate.

Less than a week after, I was driving around the area and I see a RED KIA VAN. I come up behind the van and sure enough, the tail light cracked and the same shape piece was missing. There was also the same colour paint on the van as my mom's car. Caught it all on my dash cam along with pictures my friend took, sitting in the passenger seat, when we got to a red light.

Submitted all the info to ICBC and they sent the owner of that vehicle a letter. The owner never came forward after 30 days which to ICBC is an admission of guilt. My mom was waived her deductible and had her car fixed.
