When cavemen have endless access to phenomenal wealth, you end up with Saudi Arabia.

Manic! 08-06-2018 11:27 PM

Guys let's keep this on topic. If you want to talk politics start a new thread in off topic. I'm trying to get my brother to buy something useless. Maybe a McLaren or a Mercedes Amg Gtr.

twitchyzero 08-07-2018 07:17 AM

shouldve posted this in the Trump thread

Badhobz 08-07-2018 08:14 AM

i havent seen THAT many arabs driving exotics. I worked in west van right after university and there was a few nice mercs and bmws but vast majority were rolling in plain jane 3 series and C classes. meh, i hardly doubt it'll impact our used car market that much.

and yes, majority of chinese people dont buy used. they think of used goods like as damaged for some reason and they trade those into the dealership or maybe sometimes on weirdo websites like vanpeople.com

Purely coming from my baseless observations, I think there are still more than enough loaded Mainlanders that buy their luxury / super cars used. If that wasn't the case, places like that 2nd hand luxury car seller / leaser at Parker Place would not survive.

I actually posted so someone may get a good deal on a car. I have been actively looking on CL to see if anything pops ups. So you can go fuck yourself.

Traum 08-07-2018 02:07 PM

Are there actually that many international students from KSA studying in Canada / Vancouver? By my own guess, the numbers would probably be quite small.

If the goal of the post is to hope someone would find a good deal on a car, I'd think the chances are higher to look for something where a Mainland Chinese student is returning to China after finishing school or whatever here. Those seem to come up every now and then, and I am not even making a conscious effort to look for them.

On the other hand, when I first saw the subject heading, I thought the thread was totally about discussing the politics of the souring Canada - KSA relationship.

I rented to one. He was a disaster. Lol never did see his wife. Always sent her out the the patio when I came in for a “visit.” Not trying to judge, but weird.... just weird.

You're not going to get a "cheap" McLaren or GTR because Saudi students have to leave town. If the car was purchased cash it would most likely be purchased back by the selling dealer. If it was leased and the person bails the leasing company would "repo" the car and either sell it to a dealer or send it to auction.

I read a headline this morning saying KSA was recalling 12,000 students back to the motherland.

That's 12,000 across the entire country.

Gas prices down in my area. $1.26
Is this what happens when we argue with Saudi Arabia?
Let's keep arguing

twitchyzero 08-07-2018 06:25 PM

dared3vil0 08-07-2018 08:05 PM
