It only takes into account the secondary driver with the lowest discount/highest surcharge.

Does this sound about right? I had Max discount before + 10 years, my new insurance is up like $600 a year, and I save $100 if I add my mom on my policy.

I saw the aftermath of this dropping my dog off for surgery this morning in Richmond, not my video but discovered online after... another reason why our insurance rates are fucked. Check out the rotor glow on the Infiniti:

Good that was caught on the dash cam. Hope the driver gets banned from driving with jail time. Reminds me of the exact same accident that killed a 28 yr old cabbie last month on 1st ave and Renfrew.
Although luck was on the side of the corolla driver cuz the impact was at the rear quarter.

One of the cars hit was an unmarked Fusion police car and apparently the G37 driver was either drunk or running from police depending who you believe

It's on the news now. But I'm a bit confused by this article.
Where was the unmarked police car?

And who's car is this?

The YouTube video said the driver fled on feet after. If that's the Infiniti, how the hell did the driver flee on foot after that?

The unmarked police car was a Ford Fusion that got hit in the front other side of the intersection and ended up on an embankment facing a fence

The unmarked cruiser looks to be in pursuit of the Infinity. Also couldn't stop in time, but just barley avoided the dash-cam car.

That makes more sense now... lol Fusion trying to chase a G37...

No wonder the intersection was still closed at 3pm when I went to pick my dog up... not supposed to pursue when people are driving that erratically...

I can send proof to a DM as I would rather not show a screenshot of the broker's site to the public.

Example 1, my own IDF is 0.829 and my friend's IDF is 0.515. My friend is listed on the policy, but not as a household member. CDF = 0.829

Example 3, my own IDF is 0.829 and my friend's IDF is 0.943. My friend is listed on the policy, but not as a household member. CDF = 0.857

EDIT: added wording and examples

Yes, basic comes with $1,000,000 of UMP. Flat rate $25 for 2M, $30 for 3M, $35 for 4M, $40 for 5M.

Do you know how the <5000km 10% discount works if the policy elapses or is cancelled?

Can you still take advantage of the 10% discount if policy elapses, then it's renewed down the road a few months later? What if the policy is cancelled, then renewed after cancellation?

Doesnt work my friend got denied it because he switched his plate to another car for a couple of months and then back again. Has to be steadily insured the entire year.

When it lapses by itself no plate is changed. You just start the coverage on the same details. Hence why I'm asking.

If jasonc97 is really working for ICBC as a broker, I would be real curious how exactly the system works.

If anything I'm more interested to know if it works if insurance lapses, because I already wasted 2 months since I didn't drive, and I have 1 month left before it expires by itself.

I'd like to re-insure when COVID lockdown ends and I actually have somewhere to go.

A one-time rebate of 25% of the monthly premium is something to get excited about? If you’re paying $1800/year, that’s a $37.50 rebate ...

beats a public corp that won’t backdate a cancellation fee from several weeks ago

any cheque I get from a private company is a nice gesture

https://business.financialpost.com/n...o-fewer-claims

this one says ‘up to 75%’ back from premiums..$100M is no chump change for them to do this voluntarily

For removing traveling to/from work, I got a 36% rebate
Monthly payment reduced by only $6, lol

I'm sure a lot of people like me cancelled their insurance weeks ago and already paid the cancellation fee. Thanks ICBC.

Wonder what'll happen if/when people cancel their insurance but still park them on the street. Then something happens to their car...

obviously you'd have no coverage. Ton of liability too.

it would be crazy to cancel insurance if you street park.
