excuse the daily hive link https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/icbc...UqQblotOo9-OhI here we go. this is a totally separate refund (i think) from the pandemic monies doled out already amounts will depend on when you renew. EDIT: the online estimator will show you your refund amounts - got $800 bucks coming back, which is nice |
You are correct, they are different. I checked last night at ICBC.com My Covid (2020) rebate was $220 for one vehicle; the 2021 rebate is estimated $440, with my renewal up in December. Insurance next is projected to be significantly cheaper as well. This is just my opinion, but if the injury lawyers are taking out radio ads saying the new ICBC scheme is a terrible idea, it's likely a brilliant idea. |

Using that "accident" she managed to stay off of work for 1.5 years and when it all got settled she took medical retirement (!!!!!) because her lawyer was able to prove she couldn't work anymore in an office. What did she do after? Took her payout and bought a big boat and a hunting lodge in the interior that she now runs. Couldn't work in an office, but can run an entire hunting lodge? Makes sense. So happy to see that type of shit shutdown... but I do feel for the people who are honestly suffering immensely from injuries they've sustained at someone else's fault. |
Insurance payouts are the only way anyone young person is buying a house in Van. That dream is now dashed. |
They could always crowdfund or onlyfans it |
Damn rates really did go down significantly. Last rate quote (Feb) was $4K for the 97 M3. Today: 2mil, 500 comp 1000 colision, $2059 ($175) 2 mil, 500 comp, $1730 ($147) Sent from my SM-G781W using Tapatalk |
Is the no fault insurance here as strict as Quebec? Where if you get hit a bus and die your life is worth $65K. |
with no fault, rates should be approximately 80% lower in exchange for what we lose out on. So the rebates and new rates still aren't as low as they should be. But if you get in an accident, you're pretty much screwed if you have legitimate injuries - https://www.nsnews.com/local-news/ru...-model-3795192 Quote:

7K is very low though, maybe he's over 65? :lol |
The policy I have through work is something low like that too, I have a big personal one to cover the mortgage requirements so I don't need stupid mortgage insurance though. |
Finally got adjusted when it came out yesterday. Old monthly ~$220, new monthly ~$148 |
Lol I got a cheque from ICBC a week or so ago, and I had already gotten my Covid rebate, so I was like sweet, this must be the new policy rebate! I opened it up, and it's.....$18. So I'm pretty wtf. Read the letter, and apparently at some point in time in the past they overcharged me for my plate, and are refunding it now. New policy rebate is to come later. I donno, maybe they're finally getting their shit together. |
I received a letter from ICBC last week (or maybe even earlier) saying that they'll issue the policy rebate electronically to the same account that was used to pay for the auto insurance. As I paid for it in a single lump sum using my credit card, I have been expecting the reimbursement ever since. But so far, still no dice. |
I got a refund directly to my credit card last week. Paid it in a lump sum last September. |
I got a refund yesterday for like $240, just paid full year in April |
I’m getting refunded $223 on credit card for an Oct - Oct policy. |
I pay mine monthly on the 3rd of each month for both of my cars and saw $178 savings. Now paying $379.07 for both my cars instead of $557. I'll take that as a win. |
You were able to go on ICBC's website and enter direct deposit information if you didn't want it on credit card, did all that a few months ago but I guess they were like get fucked and sent the money to my credit card anyway. I got a $415 refund, I had renewed and paid in full in January. |
Got $270ish back with 2 cars. Not sure if it's been discussed on here but apparently if you don't get collision coverage, hit and runs are no longer covered under the new policy and there's a new hit and run coverage that has a $750 deduct. It was only about $2 a month extra on my truck though. |
Wasn't hit and run under comprehensive coverage? |
I think Hit and Run was covered under Collision if you purchased it. If you didn’t have collision, it was covered under basic but with $700 or $750 deductible. I think under the new program, if you didn’t purchase collision, it’s not covered under basic anymore and there’s a stand-alone policy for it. |
I got $17 because my policy renewal is on the 6th of May. So that was for six days haha |
