Malta and Southern Italy

Travel forum has been dead lately so I thought I'd give it a kick with some of my travel photos

This spring we took a trip thru Malta, an Island country off the coast of Sicily which we also visted along with the area around Naples Italy. Here's some pics of Malta.

The Grand Harbour view from the Capital, Valletta

Valletta and it's massive domed church can be seen pretty much anywhere.

Typical colourful balconies found in Malta

Ta' Pinu Church in the island of Gozo

The Azure Window in Gozo. GoT fans might recognize this as the site of Daenerys and Khal Drogo's wedding. Unfortunately last year it collapsed into the sea. It looked like this

The Blue Lagoon, Gozo - this place is mad crowded in the summertime but in March it was perfectly deserted. The water colour is amazing

The fishing village of Marsaxlokk was an awesome place for a seafood dinner

southern italy has such a different feel than central/northern italy, more of that low key almost greek style architecture and colors

Speaking of which, here are some photos from Southern Italy

Syracuse, Sicily - founded originally by the Greeks

The town of Ragusa, Sicily on a hilltop - lots of Godfather vibes here

A classic Fiat 500 trying to squeeze through the narrow streets of Noto, Sicily

The town of Taormina with Mt. Etna in the background

Pompeii in the evening with Mt. Vesuvius in the background

Positano on the Amalfi Coast. This is the place to splurge on a hotel room with a view.

Ravello also on the Amalfi Coast. Much higher up though than most other towns.

The Isle of Capri was gorgeous but $$$

Here is Emperor Augustus flashing gang signs to his crew on the top of Monte Solaro, Capri

Piazza del Plebiscito, Naples

What kind of Asian tourist would I be without food pics?

Being Italy, of course there is Pasta...

A creative take on a Caprese Salad

Freakin' gigantic Cannolis

Naples, being the birthplace of Pizza did not disappoint.

Sicily's a huge island, we only had time to check out the East Coast, which has some bigger towns. Seems like the guy in the videos you posted did the North Coast mostly.
