I was going to post this when I saw this thread. My dad had a 2nd gen Isuzu Trooper when I was a kid and when I first saw the VehiCross, I wanted to get one it was time to get my first car. Too bad it was never sold in Canada, I ended up with a civic as my first car.
Features
twin turbo v8 diesel
5 speed manual
air conditioning
power windows
some airbags
steel wheels
9 seats
dual fuel tanks
barn door style rear gate
come in white
All the "Weird" cars I liked about 15 years ago are now cool. Miata's, Volvo Wagon's, Classic VW Beetles. Sadly, those were cool cars all along.
These days, their are not cool cars. So I don't like anything "weird." Except minivans.
you just listed a bunch of best sellers in the entirety of automotive history, i'd say they are hardly weird...as is the guy mentioning the fiat 500...they're almost recognizable as the Mini
Had a Buick in the family growing up. Still want one as an adult but no way I can realistically afford one in good condition.
A black Buick GNX. I still try searching every now and then.
They only made 547 GNXs and most are probably in deep hibernation in some rich collectors' heated barns.
Speaking of old Buicks
On the surface, it's your typical GM 90s middle america living room on wheels. But under the hood was something cool.
The LT1 V8 found in the Camaros, Trans Ams & also the Corvette itself. It was detuned so not sure if it was only in software or internal hardware as well. Either way, this not-so beautiful car made an underrated 260hp / 330lb ft of torque and pushed the 4000lb hot tub to 60mph in 6.7 seconds which was damn good for mid 90s spec.
my fav all time car. doesn't matter how shitty the motors are or how FWD it is.
i don't own one currently (i've had 3) just waiting for a clean local car to come up
Like Clarkson said wayyyyy back. Future classic

Why not the SRT4 caliber LOL
I did not mind how this thing looked.....
And some of these cars you guys are posting aren't weird. The GNX, tons of people loved that car and it was not weird in anyway. Same with the land cruiser lol
GS8 posting old Buicks makes me think of looking for a roadmaster with the vistaroof
Took this picture on Sunday!
I always wanted a sleeper srt4 neon I'm silver with base wheels hood spoiler etc. Crashed my dad's 91 Talon Tsi turbo auto and ICBC paid out more than he paid a year prior ha
I really wanted a Shelby CSX with variable nozzle turbo and Fiber ride wheels. Probably because my dad had a Shadow ES Turbo.

I had a base model Caravan ES turbo, 5spd, with the body cladding. Cranked it up to 20psi, no IC, stock injectors. Didn't take long for the headgasket to blow hahaha.

Looking at it now, I have no idea what I was thinking... but I used to want a 1992/1993 Dodge Daytonia IROC R/T so bad... studied everything about it with the Lotus turbocharged engine etc... almost bought one in red from a Mercedes dealer on Boundary but went to test drive it and it was so modified it wouldn't run right.
I went up to a cute chick and asked her if she'd let me take a photo of her for $30 she slapped me, she said to me that "I AIN'T A WHORE!"
But other than that I have seen every car on display in DTP just by cruising about in Richmond, thank you very much for collecting them together and get someone to sing a cover for "fuck you".
OH FUCK YOU OH OH OOOOH~

Mitsuoka orochi is something I really like (it's odd and different)
Mitsuoka is a coach building car company that was founded in the late 60s, they are known to turn cars like the Nissan march in to class 60s style British cars and they are registered as a car company in 1996
I do like their styling as it's very classy and unique

To a traditional muscle car guy, the idea of a V6 turbo decimating traditional NA V8's would seem weird to say the least, especially with a Buick badge.
