If you’re gonna pick a beetle, do it right. New beetle RSi. Back in the early 2000’s I saw one BLAST through the Richmond automall. It must have been a promotional vehicle or test vehicle or something, but it left quite an impression on me. To this day I’d still like to build an rsi replica
The New Beetle (97-11) was okay to drive albeit girly, underpowered, and impractical.
My buddy and I test drove the most recent generation a few years ago because he was interested in one and the visibility out of it is atrocious and it wasn’t particularly impressive for the price. He ended up getting a Jetta instead.
The Nissan Pulsar was a bit of an oddball that I liked with the neat tail lights. If you were lucky, you'd see a wagon version of the Pulsar!

Well, considering the CA18DET powered Pulsar GTI-R (which I agree, is a pretty cool car) never made it here, I am only referring to the POS North American version.

If you are going with the Beetle, go with the Dune edition. That yellow!
No thanks. I see one outside Brown brothers Ford everyday and can honestly say not a fan of the styling of the bumpers and the plastic everywhere. Not looking forward to seeing the plastic start to fade too haha. I'm not a huge fan of yellow to begin with anyway. It may not be the prettiest car, but it is a clean and simple look to it and kind of a neutral design with the 2013 model line.

Eh, It just reminds me of being a overly done kit car if you didn't know what it was or knew what a beetle is, but the nostalgia is there.

Not to nitpick, but that is the ENTIRE thread. Weird cars that 99% of people wouldn’t even notice, but they are unique cars that one guy every few months will give you a thumbs up and makes it all worth it.
Zombie Saab! I didn't know that was an actual term of reference until now lol

what is it? MR2 with 86 bits? but the wheelbase looks too long for it

interesting how center driver seat never quite took off...i'd think a 1+3 is better than 2+2 as you probably save quite a bit from having to develop both LHD and RHD parts...it's a great bragging right as far as passenger legroom goes too
