Why havn't the victims of this obvious targeted effort joined up for a group lawsuit? The officer is obviously emotionally compromised, and thus unable to effectively carry out his duties with unbiased professionalism, he has compromised the integrity of the system through his own ongoing mis-directed temper tantrum.

Of course it needs to be warranted for a complaint!!!! I am NOT telling people to file frivolous complaints.

Since there are talks about ppl with stock vehicles that are being VIed. If it happens to me then I would:

Take photos on scene for the infraction(s), STFU and accept the VI, write own notes right after being served, get car inspected AND assuming the car passes by not changing anything, take photos of the infraction(s) immediately after inspection, make a legitimate complaint.

I'm not a lawyer and this isn't legal advice.

The complaints need to be warranted. If there is no clear basis for a complaint, then it's worthless.

If VPD is issuing notices with orders that state you must go to a dealer or other nonsense like that, that's an issue a judge should weigh in on.

The problem here is that we have laws that are unclear or unreasonable, and we have the police making up their own laws.

For example, having a car with "visible camber" or being ordered to have the vehicle dealer inspected when there is no dealer that does inspections. These guys are using the rules in ways that were never intended.

The only way to really get this straightened out is through a judicial review. This is what the lawyer in the CTV story was explaining. Once a Judge weighs in, that actually becomes part of the law.

For example, if a Judge ruled that you can take your car to any designated inspection facility despite being ordered to the dealer, the police would have to abide by that. If they didn't, that would be a very clear basis for a complaint and the VPD would need to take it seriously or they could face legal consequences.

Its a small fee to begin, but as I mentioned, a group could do it, if even 20 people chipped in and I mean traffic lawyers arn't exactly billing $1000/hr here.

Someone with deep pockets could use some consultation with specialized Lawyers >bcdrivinglawyers.com

Since 'yourself' is unable to behave like a mature adult, they have been removed from the thread.

just simple trolling is easy enough to ignore, but comparing this to the holocaust and the officers to Nazi Germany even as a joke is pretty heinous.

don't recall this being posted on this thread, but I think the BCIT video did a better job by interviewing shops, officers, and presenting the fact that some stock performance cars come with louder exhausts/more noticeable camber.

FatalCloud 03-12-2019 07:28 PM

might be a dumb question but this is the 1st time i've heard of bcit magazine...who are their videos for, does it get watched by the general public or?

It airs on Shaw local cable station

The show is done purely by BCIT Television Broadcast & Journalism students

Is there another link to this video? Would like to watch it.

Major appreciation to Traum, BIC_BAWS and those behind the scenes for escalating the issue to this level. So many people bitch, moan and whine about this and that yet do absolutely fuck-all to fix it or even address it. They'd rather just take comfort in the back pats, the 'I'm so soz' comments and the sad tear face emoji spam from their friends.

So it's enlightening to see that people will actually step up in real life and dedicate their own time and energy into an issue they are passionate about. We need less victim complex and more courage complex.

I think anyone who does their job terribly (whether it's a barista or a cop) should not be doing that job. Plenty of other people who'd gladly fill their shoes and do a better job most likely.

Off traveling and haven't seen a touch of news for 12 days. Nice to see this today though:

As I said they arn't billing $1000/hr for a bloody traffic ticket. Though if some skinhead cop dared to pull me over in my Jag I wouldn't blink at having them dragged by their balls through the court system just to prove a point.

Only through the courts can probe the notes of issuing LEO, justify issuing a VI and it cannot be handed out "just because". The result could reveal a abuse of authority or conduct unbecoming.

I've made contact with the BCIT reporter to see what happened and to see if they can put it back up.

It's fantastic we're gaining traction on this right now and it's too early to lose it. Godspeed

JDMDreams 03-13-2019 09:30 AM

Has VPD pulled you over, issued you a vi and your family has been disrespected? If so call Klein lawyers and we will fight for what you deserve. :lawl:

twitchyzero 03-13-2019 02:07 PM

is that VI issued by monthly data available somewhere?

saw the news link on FB and thought I'd sign in with what little internet I have here in Africa to again thank Traum and especially bic_baws, Eddie and Angela for making this happen

the response by VPD is a slap in the face and I continue to be skeptical of the actual outcome but it's nice to see we were able to band together and put forth something professional and by-the-facts ...hats off to everyone involved behind the scenes

I think that's from FOI request only.

VRYALT3R3D 03-13-2019 04:53 PM

Jeez. I live in Toronto and feel fortunate there isn't a crack down like that here. The traffic cops here are focusing on distracted driving.

Twi7ch 03-13-2019 05:54 PM

Anyone notice Derek Cains photography site is down. The timing sure is odd with the recent CTV article. I wonder if he was getting harassed on there.
