edit: nvm don't feel like being a cunt today.

There's a cop car camping out at the ramp of Willington. Not sure if he's there to give out vi but he pulled a car over earlier and had the car towed.

Better stay away if you drive a modded car.

Edit. Cop left.

Doesn't seem like Burnaby RCMP have as much free time as VPD lol. Was followed behind RCMP yesterday, I was thinking, "oh damn, gotta shift at the lowest possible RPM I can, just because how loud my car lol". Managed to quickly change lanes to let the RCMP pass without any issue :fullofwin: This has definitely brought more caution in the way we all drive, keep things low key if possible.

You car does attract a lot of attention. It's gonna happen and keep on happening.

got a VI today around 12:30 at Kingsway and Victoria, cop was really chill about it though, but as cars passed by, he told them to stop behind me as they were lining up for their notices/tickets.

I was wondering if I could bring it to any dealership, or does it need to be manufacturer specific; because the cop wrote down "full inspection at Acura".

Thanks

Doesn't mean shit, as previously stated in this thread. Raise the coils, put your winters on and take off your front tint and bring it in to any shop that does inspections.

Full inspection at Acura is just a scare tactic. You can bring it to any shop that has certified inspectors.

I still don't fully comprehend why a single person would get an entire community targeted because he couldn't sack up and take his L like a big boy. There are far more dangerous pieces of shit on the roads that need a VI, yet because of one or two people, meticulously maintained but modified cars are subject to far stricter scrutiny. And it doesn't matter if you can quote the MVA regs stating that your shit is legal, like in the case of the E30.

Excelsis 10-08-2018 07:38 PM

ehh I've noticed since the last 2 weeks or so that regular car's have been getting IV'd.. and they weren't modified. coincidence perhaps

JDMDreams 10-08-2018 07:38 PM

Curious what do you drive also? Were you ripping it or driving normally?

reading through this thread only really infuriates me towards the way modified cars are looked at and ticketed. whens the last time anyone saw a sick resto mod car with a box 1? that shit wouldn't pass ever. if my car ever got a box 1 it would never see the road again. which says nothing about it's safety. It spends 98% of it's life on a race track. it's caged and low and cambered and loudish (not obnoxious) and has no interior but i still drive it on the road from time to time. i put 500 ish kms on it at the beginning of the spring just the break in a new motor. the car has better brakes, better tires, better suspension, a full roll cage, proper harnesses but of course all that screams vi. should it? not in my opinion.

some shitty van with desperately squealing brakes or a pickup with the muffler swaying around b/c the pipes have rusted through or a car with no working brake lights. these are vi worthy infractions

say what you want about how this duke guy decided to react to the vi but honestly there is nothing on that car that i would deem unsafe based on the pictures in this thread. not even the camber assuming the tires were in good condition.

It’s a collective score assigned to you for your social media presence / influence... in other words, the higher it is, the more likely you’re a narcissistic fucktard

If you hadn't heard by now, "social media influencer" is slowly making its way into being a full-time paid job for people that have lots of narcissism points.

As someone who recruits influencers for brands, I wouldn't hire Duke. His social media presence and personal actions wouldn't be a positive reflection on most brands.
