I think it’s pretty clear that absolutely nothing has been adopted

UnknownJinX 01-11-2020 10:35 AM

I read through the petition and this caught my eye:

"If everything that we add to our vehicles were illegal then why allow this product into North America."

Because laws here in North America is a lot harder to reinforce in other countries like China where these products are made, and even if they are made in North America, they market them as off-road only so anything is legal to sell. Not a good argument IMO.

I saw that a lot of people have signed it. Not the best example to really start petition IMO. If these change.org are actually worth anything, at least have an example that's more apparently stock or street legal.

Like someone already said, this pretty clearly isn’t the car we want representing the reason the VI system is flawed. 100% that car is loud as fuck and pisses most people off when they see it. Even tracks would probably not let it out there.

The officers (both on motorcycles) already knew no Porsche dealer will do it but suggested he can take it to Weissach. Tow bill was $277. Flat deck fee, lowered car fee, bridge fee, rush hour fee.

I'm really curious at how all these RWB/LB cars can survive this fiasco. I guess this porsche might be able to 'borrow' some panels to pass VI if it comes to that. But good luck to those 458 and aventadors and the LB NSX.

bcrdukes 01-12-2020 04:51 PM

I think those RWB/LB cars are meant to be track-only, and not for public roads. :lol

I don’t see why fender flares would be illegal. Throw on oem exhaust, wheels and suspension and pass ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Producer 01-12-2020 05:53 PM

or just don't drive them in vancouver.

i think since this whole mess started I've only driven into town once. if the VPD's mandate was to get modified cars off the road - it's worked on me.

I don't think they are. Wheels just can't go past the body. @jackp0t passed with the fender flares.

the bullshit part to me is the sound meter testing.

it's not an closed environment, what happens when a Harley drives by or an 18 wheeler using its engine breaks.
there going by highest rating recorded sound and its probably doesn't reset the results.

also whats stopping these crooks from putting the microphone tester 2 inches from your exhaust exit?...there's no rules on condoning how far it should be for testing, its basically a craps shoot.

They're no different than the flares you're required to put on trucks/SUVs with wider tires.

Not VI related but some VPD prick was camped out 3/4 of the way down Boundary hill toward Marine today doing radar... I mean really? Expecting people to maintain 50 on that gradient of a hill? And jumping out to nab them on a vision obscured corner in slippery conditions?

Stupid is as stupid does. I didn’t get busted (was going up the hill) but they’re going full retard on that one.

They've been doing that for YEARS. Everyone should know about that one by now lol

And if anything this is probably the only time when it's justified...

68style 01-13-2020 01:58 PM

I don’t live in the area but I have been going up and down that hill now and then for 20 years and I’ve never seen them there

snowball 01-13-2020 03:27 PM

I see them there every once in a while, I mean, that pull-out is specifically for police so if someone isn't paying attention they deserve to get dinged.

wing_woo 01-13-2020 10:19 PM

I havent see them there in a while but they used to always be there when they first put that pull out there. The sign even says police parking. They usually target those going much faster than others.

They actually updated their tactics. They would have either one or two cops on the bridge on Marine Drive with radar gun and the other cop would be at the pull out area.

This guy was operating solo I guess he was bored and decided to ruin a few people’s day

Euro7r 01-14-2020 09:05 AM

VPD traffic have nothing to do and way too much time on hand according to RCMP buddies.

Some of those guys should be reassigned to, I don't know, dealing with the real crime in the city that is quietly getting out of hand?

Why would they though? That doesn't make money :lol

JDMDreams 01-14-2020 12:13 PM

I've been noticing police SUVs that say traffic response unit? Or something along the lines of that. Is that the new vi bois? But then I also see ones marked cvse? Or is that for commercial vehicles?

CVSE is for commercial vehicles, but I have seen them pull over personal use vehicles as well. Those guys know their shit.

They should be the ones confirming VI's are legit. I bet they'd facepalm, hard, at the sight of VPD's tactics.

I got pulled over by a CVSE once at the bottom of nordel way off ramp onto hwy 91, got a defective vehicle ticket. Was not filled out properly so I disputed it and it got thrown out.

Badhobz 01-14-2020 04:51 PM
