lol with the walls in the vicinity, it would be louder than a CF-18 with afterburner

westopher 03-05-2020 07:02 PM

"so what you want to do here, is put your whole hand into the exhaust pipe, and tell the owner to switch to sport mode and rev to 8k."

whitev70r 03-05-2020 07:03 PM

I don't know what it is with Lambo drivers ... they are so friggin annoying. Do you have to rev to 7-8000 from every red light to get to the next red light?

westopher 03-05-2020 07:07 PM

ehhhhhh I probably would.FeelsBadMan

Harvey Specter 03-05-2020 07:09 PM

I drive my Performante in sport mode and it's not that loud unless you floor it. Strada is quite but gear shifts are sluggish and Corsa is too loud.

If you have not joined the Automotive Enthusiast Alliance Facebook group you should.

Hey guys, just got word from City TV they’re expanding on this story due to the response. Anyone specific I should recommend they speak to on this matter, or specific points you want me to address?

VPD saw my story, but no surprise, no response from them lol

Isn’t this at the lambo dealer ? It’s right behind the Ferrari maserati driveway.

Yes, it's the demo/stock EVO which is for sale.

Timing of the release is interesting.

MRSky88 03-06-2020 02:55 PM

They only mentioned 40 vehicles.

How about the other hundreds of vehicles. Lol.

For public safety, the VPD is contacting all the vehicle owners to advise them their inspections are invalid, and that they will need to have them inspected at a valid facility.
:heckno: - super salt in the wound if you have to take another day off and pay for another inspection

twitchyzero 03-06-2020 03:06 PM

whoever created that image deserves a VI for their phone

did they sprinkle powerpuff girls dust on it?

It was less about the actual inspections at that location, but the fact they get to say, "see, that's why we have to keep doing VIs due to these improper inspections."

westopher 03-06-2020 03:42 PM

That just reads to me as “the cvse isn’t doing their job properly when licensing shops so we will punish the public since there is no accountability on our end.”

68style 03-06-2020 03:51 PM

Wow crooked shops or shady dealings in the automotive servicing world? You don't say?

Good job poh-leese... how many man hours went into taking down one of John Shorthouse's side gigs?

7/40 were private cars. I think they need to focus on commercial vehicles more than anything else

Oshiguru 03-06-2020 08:43 PM

I posted this in that facebook group that's gaining traction but I wonder what everyone's thoughts were on the 2020 VPD business plan: https://vancouver.ca/police/assets/p...iness-plan.pdf

Looks like they're going to focus on a "noisy muffler campaign" and the target is increases in ticket production for all traffic squads.

SpeedStars 03-06-2020 09:42 PM

I don't think the vpd should be spearheading a noisy muffler campaign unless they have the same training as CVSE officers on the matter. At least if CVSE busts my ass I know they know their stuff and have all relevant equipment + knowledge to conduct the test to write me a VI

SSM_DC5 03-07-2020 02:04 AM

The Noisy Muffler campaign as well as a target measure to increase ticket production has been in the business plan since 2017.

The fact they are calling it a "business plan" irks me. It tells me they are out to generate profit rather than doing actual policing.

We need to get rid of VPD and bring the RCMP back into Vancouver. The fact that they want huge funding increases is just salt on the wound. Too bad I don't live in Vancouver proper and my voice doesn't make a difference.

bcrdukes 03-07-2020 04:19 PM

Welp, there goes my summer to ride the Ducati. :lol
