Was driving through Terminal Ave at 8:30pm today and saw 3 cop bikes parked on the side.
White Subaru STI got pulled over and a cop checking the ride height. Caught it on my dashcam. This is seriously getting out of hand. The car didn't look slammed at all.
What hasn't Killed me, has made me more tolerant of RS!

I think I drove by Duke on my way to work. Not even a block from the airport there's a bunch of traffic, and I pass a black e38 7 series plowed into the back of a taxi.. I drive by and there's black tint on all the widows...possibly him? $♂️

I hope the taxi driver's okay.

For those that has to sell. Will any one even buy it considering it can't be insured...... But I agree there must be something we can do. This vi rule seems over powered. What if it's the person's only car and their livelihood depends on it.

Doesn't matter, pay to play. Remember that it's only VPD doing most of this, so far. Blame the kid that says to not believe everything you see on the internet, despite contrary evidence that shows that 20 years of effort got pissed away.
Any other mods that would have attracted attention? 6:30pm is getting kind of dark. I'm surprised they would have noticed a fender gap like that unless they're specifically checking every car that drives by?
No other mods, as you can see in the photo it's just lowered.... I drove through a yellow light so he said that was the reason he pulled me over and then saw my car was 'modified'....
Brian Jessel will do the inspection for $262+tax lol.
I got pulled over on 49th and Victoria a few days ago. Literally left the red light heading towards the school to pick up my brother and bam motorcycle cop pulls me over, issues a box 2 for loud exhaust / inadequate wheel clearance.
I had no clue what was going on until I found this forum. Fucking sucks that we get punished for this guys actions.
Willing to sell a family member for a few minutes on RS

At this point with hundreds of cars that pass with flying colours, I don’t think a class action is out of the question. They will smarten up quick if they are on the hook for let’s say 100x$262
I don’t know the legality or being able to prove that they are being unreasonable in the cars they are Giving VIs to, but I do know the legality of the cars being sent in, and the fact you can easily identify whether a car is illegal ride height visually on the side of the road using the MVA guidelines.

Yea cuz if it's gonna cost me $300+ just for a road side vi and possibly more vis again down the road. I'm willing to throw down some money to fight this.

I just got off the phone with a service tech at BMW langley and he said I do not have to have my car inspected by a BMW dealer (As indicated by the officer who issued my VI), the inspection can occur at any licensed provincial inspection facility...

Spoke to him personally and he was the one who told me that by going to another shop, I'm violating the order. Feel free to give him a call and ask him, if you ask about the Porsche that can't be inspected I'm sure he will remember me.
Third party parroting info: I was told by a friend TSS called and asked about this "must be inspected by dealer", and was told the same thing by the Area Inspector.

Frustrating, and I thought for years you could go anywhere
From what I've been told by someone in law enforcement, if you're instructed to go to a dealership then you'll have to bring it there for inspection. Failure to comply with the request could get you a Box 1. They're also cracking down on shops on passing cars that shouldn't be passed. If no dealer is licensed to perform the VI, you can make other arrangements with the officer/police force.

Based on what? And without changing a single thing? Though by their nature a VI is still completely valid even if the car passes without changes. So unless it's the same officer giving the same vehicle VIs repeatedly then you're not going to get very far.

Except a VI is for anything, not just ride height. I feel like at best this would get thrown out of court, at worst it seems like a fast track to ending up with mandatory annual inspections. Remember how fun AirCare was for everyone?
Out of the people that have passed without changing a thing, how many have gotten more than 1 VI per year?
