Class action is the best way, especially now that there's some evidence for misconduct/misinterpretation, costing the public grief, and time. I'm sure a lawyer would love to take this now compared to before.

Watch this video, whereas VPD is completely baffled :D

I can't stand watching these vids for some reason ^

underscore 12-02-2021 10:13 AM

Just from the title I'm already gonna make a bunch of assumptions about the owner, none of which are good, and not watch another douchey exotic owner.

Eff-1 12-02-2021 06:16 PM

Actually this video was pretty good. The owner is totally respectful and the cops are completely confused. It's interesting to see how different officers approach the same situation.

Oregan cop sounded so pissed. But honestly can't expect Municipal police to know all federal laws so at least they were understanding

Lol I can’t believe I watched that whole thing. It does go to show the difference between some police officers and their power tripping egos.

Doubling down on false statements with threats and intimidatation are clear indicators.

Got pulled over by Buckingham who was waiting at the Shell gas station on Granville and 41st. This was Feb 11th around 6:30pm. He snuck behind me from the gas station and pulled me over 2 blocks later. Went for my exhaust right away, (STI with catback) and my rear fog lamp, which is always on when headlights are on, car is otherwise stock. He spent 20 minutes on his bike, looking through his book of violations. I wondered what took him so long to give me a VI, but he ended up slapping on 4 violations on top of a Box 2 ($109 per violation). 3 exhaust related and 1 for rear fog lamp. No decibel test. Before he let me drive off, he asks if I had coilovers, car is stock height bro... seems like he was trained to look out for select things but uncertain at the same time

1 - Unnecessary Noise **straight forward**
2 - No/Inadequate Exhaust Muffler **Cat back still retains 2 mufflers and resonator in midpipe**
3 - Prohibited Alteration (Opened/Widened) of muffler exhaust outlet **I measured the actual outlet vs stock outlet, identical except the tips are bigger for cosmetic purposes**

Kinda pissed about the violations because they are points towards my license, because having a louder car means I'm a danger on the road? Went to file dispute at ICBC last week and found out he already cancelled the violation for the rear fog lamp. What are my chances of successful dispute for all 3 exhaust violations if he didnt do db test? Also, he wrote on the VI form that I have to do my inspection at a Subaru dealership. I know VI only affects me re-insuring my car, what if I get it done somewhere else? I've already disabled the lamp and put my stock exhaust on.

Went to the provincial courts today for the dispute. Buckingham was there to greet me. We sat down in the room and I showed him that stock exhaust was back on and rear lamp has been disabled. Showed him how much I've spent on the VI + work. He decided to waive all the charges against me. I was in and out of the court room in less than 15 minutes.

^ no joke.... whenever my client do end up in Vancouver (super rare), I actually do go home and swap out the miata to the prius for this reason....

The_AK 12-24-2021 10:48 AM

Just to confirm, i can remove the VI sticker from my windshield once a year has passed?

westopher 12-24-2021 04:02 PM

Once it hits a year it’s technically not even considered a valid inspection anymore so you can remove it.

What does this have to do with VI's?

JDMDreams 01-13-2022 12:34 PM

Sounds awfully related no? Trying to get older sports cars out? You don't see them vi ING Tesla's, or enforcing masks polices :lawl:

westopher 01-13-2022 12:37 PM

You see them VIing brand new Porsches though, so yeah.

BIC_BAWS 01-13-2022 04:37 PM

But you know what does have to do with VIs? Cain's back and on the prowl. Two VIs I know of given out to friends in the last two days. Both "deserved" it so whatever. Pay to play.
