I love it when these plain Jane SUV, vans and trucks rip it past my dangerously modified vehicle. It brings a smile to me that the VPD is so competent.

It's amazing how people still don't get it:

They don't want you in Vancouver anymore.
This isn't going to stop for a while.

Our community is full of idiot drivers, insanely modified cars that no way would pass inspection, loud exhausts, cars too low, illegal lights, giant wings, fights at meets, and general hooliganism in cars... and now one or more of our community thought they could toss this Cain guy at VPD the bird and dox him online.

They made our bed for us. Now we all get to lie in it.

Why are they telling people they have to go to the dealer? Because they are well aware that there are shops out there that are "tuner friendly" and are misinterpreting the rules or outright ignoring them and passing the VI. You wanna go to another inspection facility?

Roll the dice and try your luck.

You can't win here. No one here has the money to litigate. The media doesn't give two shits about us, there's no story here for them.
Take your cars back to OEM+ at most and go a little more discreet on mods. Make sure there's wheel well gap. No Tokyo Drift crap.
Sucks. I get it. But we can not win this battle. They hold all the power, and we hold none.

They aren't going to stop. It's clear there's a standing order inside traffic to crack down on modified cars. Every time you drive into or around the CoV, you're rolling the dice.
Time to be a little more pragmatic.

RevYouUp 10-25-2018 08:50 PM

The problem is that they're targeting cars that are relatively stock as well.

R1CED` 10-25-2018 08:56 PM

only aware of a stock Maserati, and a slightly modified E30, that have been flagged, but unless there's quite a few more, two accounts is by no means 'targeting'

edit: stand corrected, now I remember the Mazda 3 and the 228i with the off-centered LP mount

They got a full on VI?

R1CED` 10-25-2018 09:00 PM

Mazda 3 had amber angel eyes, if that's correct, buddy was asking for it

JSALES 10-25-2018 09:07 PM

There was also a bone stock Honda Civic that was mentioned earlier in this thread that got a VI

Ride height: cars under 4500kg must have 25mm fender clearance from wheel/tire.
This is not in the MVA. Also, there are many cars that have rear tires on factory suspension that won’t adhere to that rule. Because of rear suspension design/travel the tire travels along a set path into the fender well and wouldn’t deflect from that path. The inspector is able to pass a vehicle they deem safe with less than that clearance, so how is an officer allowed to enforce it as law?
and in this example, wouldnt the rule apply to lets say, a dodge grand caravan used solely for commercial purposes re: transporting goods for a business vs a family purpose dodge grand caravan which would fall under the MVA?

If you're going by the acronym's meaning... yah sure... but the form for a provincial inspection is literally called a CVSE0013... so go figure??? As westopher is pointing out, seems like everything is open to interpretation between CVSE and the MVA. Not a good system when it appears the officers can just speculate or use both.

Bone stock Mazda 3 (the blue one), bone stock honda civic, 228i, Badhobz' maz, bone stock jag f-ftype, bone stock jag xrf-s, are some.

I decline to include Skunkworks' slight modified E30, because it's modified. The other Mazda 3 I mentioned was modified, with angel eyes, as stated by RICED

jaguar land rover is holding a test drive event next week, maybe RS should get them to invite VPD traffic enforcement

I believe he meant the police traffic enforcement division, where their sole jobs is to just stop people for speeding and annoy us with VI's.

Annoying, but that's literally their task. Unless you're saying the traffic enforcement department shouldn't exist altogether, so those same officers can be allocated to fight real crime instead.

Didn't someone earlier in this thread mention traffic cop is basically the entry level position and officers need to work their way up before they can start doing "real" stuff? Reminds me of this clip from Zootopia.

Is the whatsapp group updated with their location frequently?

why not ask CoV parking enforcement to engage in pursuits with fleeing gang members, since they have flashing lights on their Toyota Prius too?

Which whatsapp group? Is it the one that was created earlier in this thread with an invite link?
Cause when I tried to access it, it gave me some kind of error, like the group didn't exist or something.

:okay:

R1CED` 10-26-2018 12:55 AM

to the numb skulls in here suggesting the TEU to catch 'baddies' instead of handing out VI because they have nothing better to do, please verse yourself in some basics before embarrassing yourselves

The unit is responsible primarily for traffic-related duties, including:
Criminal Code driving offences
BC Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations offences
City of Vancouver Street and Traffic bylaw offences
vehicle and pedestrian control
collision investigations
VIP motorcade escort
that's not to say they can't get involved with other offenses, but by law they are just doing their jobs.

https://vancouver.ca/police/organiza...forcement.html

if your car doesn't have wheel gap, it's probably too low. they don't need to whip out a ruler, if they reason to suspect it's violating MVA, it's within their right to send you to a shop

you can try contesting in person on the spot, but likely that'll just piss them off.

"why don't you guys go after rusty buckets/burnt out taillights" hmm because you are 100% certain that they don't?

if you feel they are wasting tax dollars, why isn't there a big stink before all this blew up? only after conveniently receiving VI that concerns are voiced makes the argument weak

A lot of Chinese guys got hit with their exotics. Just went to dimsum with this guy and his wife who had a 488 and an Aston Martin vanquish. Both cars got vi notices. His friends in the ching chong ling long exotic rice club also got a few notices for loud exhaust. I'll try and see if I can join their WeChat and tell them to post up some of their vi notices.

yray 10-26-2018 08:05 AM

i'll take their exotics if they dont want the VI

westopher 10-26-2018 08:05 AM

Dealer told me they had dozens of stock/easy pass cars come in. Doesn’t matter though, anyone trying to prove a point will either just disregard the information or ask for proof which I’m sure a dealer isn’t gonna come in here and start posting photos of fucking cars and their VI notice beside it.

!Aznboi128 10-26-2018 08:46 AM

JDMDreams 10-26-2018 09:22 AM

Where was this? Dim sum in Vancouver or Richmond? How the tables have turned, I remember back then it was Rcmp in Richmond pulling over modified cars and it was safe in Vancouver :pokerface:BibleThump
