There's always going to be rogue officers, guys with their own agendas. It's too bad you're being targeted by this jerk.

Not the asian one from IC.com is it? He was legit. Always friendly to modded cars, and he also owned a Type R. He also did not work traffic as far as I can remember...

I was a bit confused by that post too, I remembered having positive memories of white knight as a member...

so bic_baws, nobody has contacted you about the interview yet?

waynetheman 11-09-2018 11:24 AM

Officer in suv has a dc2 pulled over on 49th just west of boundary right now. Assume unrelated as the car looks 100% stock, but doesn’t hurt to know.

TypeRNammer 11-09-2018 03:49 PM

I was just starting my day leaving home, then on my left saw a Hyundai Genesis coupe that got pulled over, possibly a VI from Cain? (Member mentioned got pulled over in a mid size SUV from a previous post)

This was by Kingsway and Rupert.

The Hyundai didn't look too modified. Lowered, wheels, racing stripe, and aftermarket tail lights.

Saw the same undercover truck with a 2 ton truck pulled over around the same time

Klondike 11-09-2018 04:29 PM

Gerbs 11-09-2018 05:40 PM

+1
Updates?

This thread is starting to turn into a spotted thread of randoms being pulled over for reasons unknown.

Maybe we'll need to wait for spring. Lots of cars are garaged over the winter

Are they profiling drivers? I don't know if they are also pulling over seniors in their modified muscle cars?

So far I have to this post and want to add .. how many harleys have been pulled

Harleys have been getting pulled for years and the VPD hold their little decibal reader to the pipe. I've been keeping my Hog out of Van, only venturing in once.

A racing stripe on a korean car.

He deserves it.

I received information that a stock 335i has been pulled over by Officer Cain 3 times for the same issue. There is qualification for harassment but the driver was informed by his VPD friend to keep quiet.

At the moment, I have 2 people that have shown interest for the interview. For there to be a story, there must be clear-cut evidence that suggests people in the car community are being harassed and treated unfairly.

Let's keep this thread clean. There's no need to post about sightings or where the VPD is camping out. You can use Waze to posted spottings.

What can be posted here:
  • dashcam videos of the incident
  • Your VI notices + how you passed the VIs
  • Your VI story
However, I kindly urge all of you to continue to be proactive in finding stories of people who have been VI'd and point them to posting on this thread. Again, if you are lurking and do not want to make an account, you can reach me at princeofrandomspam@gmail.com

Thanks everyone!

How do you join the group?

I got pulled over by Cain the same day and location at 12pm. Got VI for a loud exhaust

prelude_prince 11-11-2018 05:13 PM

Posting from Hong Kong nowadays. Hope not only do you guys live through this period and keep the mod scene alive, but also somehow stop this ridiculous vendetta and blitz from happening again. I was back in Vancouver back in the early 2000s and went through the same bs you guys are going through. Got my box 1s and 2s for silly stuff like clear corners and tinted bulbs, granted yes they weren't allowed according to the MVA, but did those warrant a tow on the spot? VIs were no fun (and ridiculously expensive) and yes, they can do it whenever they want. There wasn't so much information back then, I remember once they basically forced me to go to an OK tire for VI. I can tell you to pass that VI was bullshit. Stuff like I had to put back on my STOCK springs on my koni shocks to pass, cause my aftermarket kg/mm springs were too short, but for some reason my ridiculously loud Apexi N1 fartcan passed.

Living in Hong Kong now is another story. Comparing the two enforcement forces, I realize how empowered... or overpowered North American police officers are. They have the power to basically make your days miserable over the slightest smallest reasons, and while you still gotta treat with respect like you're basically thanking them for the stop and tow "oh thank you officer for towing my car which is unsafe for the roads with my godforbidden clear corners" because you don't want your life more miserable than it already is.

Here in Hong Kong it's definitely the other way around. My modified Supra died (dead alternator) in the middle of the highway in rush hour about 2 years ago, traffic officers showed up pretty fast, and actually helped me to push the car to the shoulder while i steered inside the car. Even waited for the tow truck to arrive before leaving.

Unfortunately it does sucks though if you drive a 'hot' car like a DC2, CL7, FD2 etc. HK police are definitely biased and unfriendly on those, but you can mod the tits out of a 'classic' or expensive car, no one bats an eye unless you're acting like a dick.

And that's how it's supposed to be, you drive like a dick, be disrespectful, dangerous on the road and you get into shit. But you shouldn't be labeled a criminal because you have a lowered car. An analogy would be like they shouldn't be allowed to tag you for "dangerous driving without regard" if you're going 55 in a 50 zone.

Good luck guys.

Bullshit. If the above claim is true it needs to be investigated and the officer disciplined in order to stop the behaviour. Another VPD member telling a member of the public to keep quiet about it is either collusive or cowardice; unless there are other forces already at work in regards to an investigation. Keeping quiet only emboldens the bully.

What ever happened to personal and professional accountability?

He has a friend in the vpd and he still got unjustly nailed THREE TIMES!?
Wow.

Yeah, but I don't use waze.
If there's already a whatsapp group, as it has been mentioned several times, it's easier to just use an app I already use daily and am familiar with.

lol, this isn't the first time a whatsapp group was mentioned, but then no response (or deflected to use waze) once I inquired about it. Is this a secret club?? :alonehappy:
