exactly, as long as you don't have noticable spoilers, tints on windows and lights, exhausts, and wheels/ride height i think you're pretty much safe
i rarely leave Vancouver and Burnaby pass by VPD marked and unmarked basically daily and go through the occasional road blocks, never have an issue (headlamps retrofitted, yellow DRLs, drive slightly on the aggressive side)
granted, i don't encounter traffic eforcement on motorcycle often
I think most people on a car forum would have modded their cars though...and tint or wheels are pretty "tame" mods.
Mine has res delete, roush exhaust, 20s, but that's it. I wonder how much crap they'd give me with the wheels since ford installed them. Technically aftermarket, but that would be so dumb to send me back to the dealer that installed them cause they're illegal or something. Good thing I kept the resonator and stock muffler in case.
Also fwiw my gf and I have had richmond rcmp (i think) follow us home after some "spirited" driving along river road in our cars. Twice. After we parked they drove by with the cop stare down LOL.
This was about 3-4 months ago so I guess before this blitz started. Have there been many VIs in richmond?
Technically many/most of the aftermarket parts (even dealer purchased & installed) are labeled off road use only in the fine print. Unfortunately they are targeting us and these parts are just making it easy for them to pick us out from a crowd of vehicles.

That's specifically a California regulation though, not necessarily an issue in other parts of the USA or Canada.
Saw a girl (I think) driving a red s14 on Marine Dr this afternoon pulled over she had gold Advan style wheels and the car was just slammed... pretty sure she was doomed

Did it have a (badly painted) body kit on it? Pretty sure I know who it is. And if it is, I think it's on MB Battles.
edit: confirmed - it's who i thought it is. Funny thing is, she's Duke's ex LMAO
Just heads up. A buddy of mine got pulled today and towed because VI. Near kerr.
he had a license plate relocater on his frs.
and an axel back on his exhaust.
and the cops wanted to be a pain in the butt and gave him a ticket because his phone was in the cup holder -________-. sigh.
I guess the rain is not even stopping the P.O whatsoever.
I feel like a criminal driving in Vancouver. I literally look around for cop cars while driving around. I have zero at fault accidents and my last ticket was like 10 years ago .. -.-

How about the part where he already got a BOX 2 VI before and then he didn't have it done within 30 days and kept driving on it and got caught? Or that he has a flashing 4th brake light?
Did anyone get any responses to their VPD complaints and letters to the local MLAs?
I'm still revising mine after reading through all the recommendations. Only about 1/2 way done since both life and work have been horrible dicks and bitches lately.
It also occurred to me that when I do end up getting a completed letter written up, do you guys think it would be a viable idea at all to set it up as some sort of online petition at all? Personally, I am rather cynical about online petitions even though I have signed on for a couple of them, and I hate being an activist since I have done a bit of that in a past life and it was excruciatingly involving even though I was only playing a small role. It'll also look pretty bad if all I can get is no more than a handful of signatures. But I'm open to the idea if enough people think it is worthwhile.

LOL....
there's always more to the story, isn't there?

I saw the Jurassic park guy last weekend on Quebec/Terminal and started to rant to my wife about this whole VI situation and said something like these guys should get it, not someone with a sports exhaust and some camber... kinda feel bad about that now.
