If you do, ask them what the $1200 in tickets was for. I got this submitted to me anonymously.

Sorry, but what was the point of posting that baiting image just to follow up with a juicy bit of info to make it more reasonable?

Why is it that things happen, and then there's always more to the story that doesn't get shared or come to surface until later?

I refer to it in my latest post replying to mb.

I get these submitted to me anonymously, usually live.

Can't confirm if he got a VI but based on the cop's body language, he definitely did lol

"that 1 inch lift is dangerous and makes your turning unstable from factory specs sir"

yourself 12-21-2018 11:41 PM

Hey officer dick lock - newsflash: It handled like shit from the factory. Maybe you can combine your high visibility jacket with your micro penis to build a time machine to go fuck your own asshole.

Not gonna lie, trying to imagine this time machine you're describing made me chuckle. haha

Calm down citizen ! Danger danger danger!

Logic dictates that you do not need to modify your vehicle as it is a early 60s Japanese econobox with no racing aspirations or pedigree. Danger danger danger !

I'm seriously curious about the whole "must be inspected at location type X". I can't find anywhere in the MVA that would suggest this is something RCMP can dictate for you?

The whole VI process annoys me though, as there is no recourse for citizens who are given one unfairly.

As it stands, VPD could pull over your Beetle, cite you for "allegedly non-OEM parts", and force you to go to a Volkswagen dealer for the VI. Like, what the hell are they going to do with a vehicle that was made when the possibly most experienced tech that will do it was 10 or 11 years old at the time?

VPD's vision of a "safe" vehicle is completely unmodified. Technically correct, but what does that mean for people with aftermarket winter/summer wheels, restored vehicles, or vehicles with replacement parts after an accident?

RevYouUp 12-22-2018 10:35 AM

There's more dangerous things out there than a slightly modified vehicle. I can't believe my exhaust is more dangerous than left lane hoggers, clueless drivers with no lights on, bald tires and senior drivers (lansdowne accident)...

meanwhile in HK.

JDMDreams 12-22-2018 12:12 PM

It would be a shame if a see Lai plowed into them while they vi :lawl: but yes in hk no one seems to care all the jdm vans, hi aces have wheels, exhausts and big calipers

frito_lay 12-22-2018 01:25 PM

I’m curious to see how many cabs would pass vehicle inspections.

GLOW 12-22-2018 01:53 PM

and cab drivers pass driving tests? Kappa

And this car drives around in Nanaimo.

We have a car meet that happens in the summer every Saturday a block from a community police station and the cops don't care.

nexusxv 12-22-2018 03:17 PM

Yep, and my mitsuoka zero one comes on January, send me to Japan)

lowda9 12-22-2018 05:13 PM

Is having a cold air intake illegal? I couldn't find anything about that in the MVA.

westopher 12-22-2018 05:52 PM

Filling your car with gas is illegal unless done by a dealership at this point.

lowda9 12-22-2018 06:03 PM

My car is stock exterior wise but I have a cold air intake, which after installing, made the turbo much louder. I went through a road block last night and the cops didn't give me any trouble though. I'm just wondering if I can get VI for that?

All my emissions equipment are still intact as it was intended from the factory.

twitchyzero 12-22-2018 06:26 PM

just put a ///m or amg sticker on it and they'll think it's factory

westopher 12-22-2018 06:34 PM

I’m living proof that doesn’t work. Although they probably thought my car was a z24 anyways

320icar 12-22-2018 07:28 PM

Has anyone in the history of anything ever confused an e36 m3 and a cavalier

jing 12-22-2018 08:04 PM

Years ago I was riding shotty in an R35 GTR and got pulled over by Burnaby RCMP for speeding on Hwy 1. The officer wrote down Nissan Altima on the ticket. Given that, I wouldn't put it past them to confuse an M3 with a Cavalier.

Raid3n 12-22-2018 08:19 PM

that's just sloppy police work lol.
it says on the insurance papers, as well as when they pull up the plate on their computer..
and, assuming it wasn't debadged, it would say on the back of the vehicle as well lol.
