I've met people who can only ID a vehicle by colour (ie the blue one) so probably yes.

Pulled over on Highway 1? Makes sense. RCMP Freeway Patrol are the bottom of the barrel for useless police officers. It’s a mix of fuck ups and dead weights that they can’t fire.

^ Taking that with a grain of salt, but this has moved from petty bullshit, to outright East German Stasi levels of enforcement. It's cementing Vancouver's reputation as a no-fun city, and implying that a multi-billion dollar arm of the automotive industry is "illegal".

All over some kid who thought clout protected him from all this.

car meat in front of cains
LA style

or just dump a truck of free salt at cains at the next snow storm

I think this kid has nothing to do with it, atleast now

For that promising backstory from either the "Youtuber-with-the-Abarth" (forgot his username) or from Dukake himself. Was hoping more likely from the former though... But he hardly posts in here anyway.

But in all honesty, what I find more annoying is all these "spottings" or snippets of info being put out without any sort of context or backstory behind it. Or lots of police spotting without any actual confirmation they are even VI related.

How's this guy qualified to train people? He's literally making up his own MVA

Jaffray 12-24-2018 11:58 AM

Seriously??? RIP..

How is it even legal anymore?

MarkyMark 12-25-2018 09:20 AM

When your whole training is "durrr I'm not a mechanic so here's a VI cause fuck you anyways" then that's a problem.

bcedhk 12-25-2018 09:41 AM

maybe it's an ego thing for him? As a traffic cop, it's hard to stand out from the rest of the bunch, so he is doing this to show his superior that he is going above and beyond.

yourself 12-25-2018 10:13 AM

I don’t think it has anything to do with ego. When has a persons ego ever had any impact on policing?

I still believe that this Vehicle Inspection Blitz has something to do with letting their wives get their assholes gaped at a strangers house. It’s the perfect setup for a cuck as big as most Traffic Officers.

If they weren’t out giving inspections, then they might actually have the time to go the full 2 inches deep into their wives. Frankly, I can understand how that would get boring.

AzNightmare 12-25-2018 04:56 PM

So what's the actual status on any sort of counter movement to fight this?

I understand it's hard and we don't have much to work with...

But any progress so far for those who have been in contact with news/laywers/writing letters, etc. Or has it died down due to insufficient support/evidence?

BIC_BAWS 12-25-2018 05:01 PM

I've been shut down due to insufficient evidence, so unless anyone wants to come forward, there's no means for this to be an end for now.

Cain probably wants a promotion of some sort. So he's showing "initiative" , by training officers on how to issue "VI"s, and having his team issue VI's regardless whether or not he's doing it properly and

correctly. There's no recourse, so no complaints, no big deal.

And at the end of the day, his superior are looking at numbers / stats.

IMO, from a traffic standpoint, numbers mean business.

So in theory, it boosts his reputation and BOOM. Level Rank Up!

Just my 2 cents.

westopher 12-25-2018 06:17 PM

Which is why people should start filing formal complaints. Numbers matter, including when an officer gets dozens of complaints about unprofessional, uninformed conduct.

Waiting for spring; if it happens to me, I'll be happy to pursue it. Both my cars are now 100% legal according to the MVA. I even went through the trouble of having a friend go through the car with me to check stuff that would be a problem so I can fix it.

I will be fucking pissed if I get VI'ed, because the cars are now legal.

yourself 12-25-2018 07:21 PM

Can we start a list of people who have filed formal complaints?

twitchyzero 12-25-2018 11:30 PM

only OP has tried to get something going and Traum drafting up a letter to politicians

either things have progressed behind the scenes without this thread's knowledge or other affected members of this community were too busy dealing with inspection/getting car back to stock/selling their car to put more effort into this

tl;dr it would appear things are progressing in proper BC/Vancouver fashion: complaining online, but not much action

would love to be proved wrong, 3 months and 54-page discussion later

Traum 12-26-2018 01:14 AM

Life has taken an extra turn of major suckage a week or two right before Christmas, so unfortunately my letter plans have been delayed a bit. But I still have every intention to get the letter out -- hopefully by early January. Unfortunately though, due to the unfortunate circumstances that life has thrown in my direction, I think I'll have to scale back the amount of stuff I want to do and take care of some business at home first.

I have also been advised to contact Specialty Vehicle Association of BC (SVABC) for help. They have been a focal point and a voice for automotive hobbyists in BC, and have worked with the provincial government before in the past. I am not sure how much they can help, but it doesn't hurt to try and get more help.

AzNightmare 12-26-2018 04:04 AM

LMAO... "training". More like informing other officers the loophole that's present for them to hand out VI's without repercussion. If Cain is really building up a small fleet to follow suit, I hope something can be done before this virus spreads through.

I can only imagine what a gongshow spring will be...
