To be fair, the police are also targeting cars that are stock i.e. Abarth 500 or Jaguar F Type. That's a freaky precedent as you're spending coin on something nice that's built a certain way from factory and now you're being slapped with tickets and mandatory inspections for things that were 100% legal to begin with. All based on one person's subjective interpretation of the road laws.

They may as well slap VIs on all the new SUVs with those retina frying HID headlight setups. I have an eye condition and have to turn away every time one of them passes by me on opposite lanes.

Can't they ding the registered owner at least?
Just thinking about that R1 that was doing 300+ on the Island, I recall the rider's mother getting the tickets.

Reggie has always known he's worthy of a VI. That's why he didn't comment on it the first 3 times. Same with Monique/Jackpot.

Most of the other people here with lightly modified cars are being VI'd - that's the majority.

That retard also recorded and posted his crime, leaving an E paper trail of ego. Had he done that for himself, and not posted it, he would have gotten off.

Even so, if they do come to your door and issue a ticket to the registered owner, no points means it doesn’t affect your insurance or driving record, which really, is all we care about here.

Waiting for the first snow to see how many plow trucks get VI's.

If so which mean our car cant use any aftermarket parts like oem replacement door ,fender, headlight?n even cant have other set of wheels with tires for winter use?

Wondering about this too, saw reggie got done for:

1. Not OEM steering wheel
2. Not OEM seats
3. Not OEM shift knob
4. Not OEM mirrors
5. Spoiler
6. Diffuser
7. Skirts and Splitters
10. Not OEM exhaust
13. Taillights Not OEM

Are these all illegal modifications according to the MVA?

For the most part no, but that's how VPD is interpreting it and really there is nothing you can do. @globalbc @ctvvancouver @cbcvancouver @vancouversun

I am glad they didn't list "not OEM wheels"

Geezus, people charging so much for old RHD vehicles. They must watch way too many youtube videos...

Or they think highly modded cars guarantee a ROI :lawl:

If all of you don't want this to situation to spiral out of control then it's time to put pressure on ICBC and law enforcement NOW!

1) SPECIALIZED/STANDARDIZED training for all police departments/officers that still want to be qualified to issue fines for vehicle modifications or to issue VIs!

2) Any designated inspection facility that deems a vehicle safe for public roads and clears it of the VI should immediately be able to bill the entire cost of the inspection, value of any included fines and any associated towing fees, to the department of the officer that issued the inspection/fines. NO MORE GETTING TO WALK AWAY AFTER FLIPPANT ABUSE OF POWER.

Is it really necessary to go back to the manufacturer dealership for the inspection? When did the rules change that we cant choose the licensed facility of our choice for the inspection?

Technically no, considering there are a few (mostly luxury) dealerships that don't even have the provincial inspection certification. VPD is forcing it because "someone" told them they had an in for getting the car passed easily, and would just re-mod it right after passing. And apparently by only allowing the original manufacturer to do the inspection, they reserve the right to not accept a passed VI from the non OEM shop.

Technically, there should not be any difference, as is ICBC has the same requirement. If it is ICBC licenced- it must be the same

My 5 year old cousin writes neater and clearer than that officer. lol.

What was the reasoning for the "other" charge?

JDMDreams 01-07-2019 03:20 PM

^^^ where did this happen? Can't really read the chicken scratch, ride height looks stock. I think everyone really needs to spam vpd Twitter and Facebook to get this out

tofu1413 01-07-2019 03:25 PM

looks quite stock with some spacers.

is it a rwd E90? they sit quite low stock on M sport suspension.

From the looks of it, your cousin will be just as qualified as any traffic VPD officer right now.

What VPD doing is totally unstainable. How bad does it look when you pull over someone, and they ask what's wrong according to the MVA , and you can't give them a legitimate answer? The office literally pulled out the MVA and could not find anything to site as an infraction.. shouldn't they know the MVA in and out before being qualified to issue tickets? There is literally zero logic to what they're doing.

What are Cains acquaintances thinking? Do none of them see what's wrong with what they're doing? Are they all afraid to speak up in the department?

68style 01-07-2019 03:36 PM

Your hand would get tired too if you spent a 12 hour shift doing nothing but filling out notice and orders for VI's

The VI references the front tinted windows which probably got him caught in the first place.
