Yeah, I'm honestly worried about getting new wheels because of all this. But they'd be the same size as OEM so maybe it would be ok.

Fuck the police

Just put in your OEM Center caps, most should fit new wheels anyways. BMW has such a wide variety of rims you can get for each Series its kinda ridiculous, noway for them to know exactly what wheels are genuine or aftermarket even then.

Anyways, going to say this again, PLEASE record any interactions with police, even if they harass you for recording don't stop. Remember we live in Canada and not the US so you won't get fuckin murked for recording your police interaction during a traffic stop.

if it sticks out as a safety issue, i'll leave my input

yes it sucks he was dinged for not having facotry shift knob, no reasonable person would argue about that from a safety standpoint. I can't even imagine how much sweat and blood went into these builds that ultimately amounted to nothing. but someone who works professionally in this scene with a very active social media presence should know about the VI blitz by now. You want a simple photoshoot with a heaty car, might be wise to choose the early morning/at ungoldy hours. He took a gamble having it out during the day and it unfortunately blew up in the worst possible way

i hope he doesn't part everything, but sells it to someone who has a trailer and will use it for hpde or something

and not just aiming at sports compact/import scene either, these bars on the street has to go

Initially that sounds like an absurd thing to give a VI for, but then I remember some of the stupid shit I've seen people using as shift knobs over the years and I'm not willing to underestimate the potential jankiness of something that should be so simple.

RevYouUp 01-07-2019 09:41 PM

Let's all use dildo knobs and ask VPD if they want it (no homo)

Now you guys are finally putting your cocks - uh i mean minds together. Good work.

yray 01-08-2019 08:02 AM

I wonder if you can get a VI for that.

westopher 01-08-2019 08:08 AM

If you do just go after the VPD for persecuting you for sexual expression.

So I have sent the email off to the above bodies last night. A number of automatic replies came back as expected, and this one seems like quite a bit more work will be involved:

Quote:

Good morning,

We are very sorry to hear that you’ve had a negative experience with a member of the Vancouver Police Department.

If you choose to proceed with filing a complaint, there are two options available to you at this time. The first is what is called a Question or Concern. This is received by us and forwarded to the Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner (OPCC) for review. This is typically for more minor allegations with the hopes of resolving the complaint informally. I have attached the form for this which can be emailed back to me if completed. An investigator in our section would call you back to discuss this Question or Concern further.

Alternatively, if you would like to file your complaint formally, this would be considered a Registered Complaint. If made admissible for investigation by the OPCC, a Sergeant in our section would be assigned to investigate your complaint, while an OPCC analyst would be the civilian oversight body for your investigation. With a Registered Complaint, a formal, detailed and thorough investigation ensues into your complaint, with regular progress reports as well as the Final Investigation Report being sent to you.

To file a Registered Complaint, you can either complete the attached form and email it back to me, or you can go directly online to the OPCC's website and file your complaint directly online there.

www.opcc.bc.ca

Sincerely,

Professional Standards Section
Vancouver Police Department
I need to sink more time into finding out how the 2 processes differ, and time isn't exactly something I have in abundance right now. This is not unexpected though -- prior to sending the email off to the VPD Professional Standards Section and Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner, I had a feeling it would come down to this.

If anyone is familiiar with either process, I would appreciate it if you can share your wisdom and experience with us here or via PM. Otherwise, I've got some serious reading to do.

Can someone living in Vancouver/mainland start a online petition.

Derpdidoo 01-08-2019 11:40 AM

Instead of a petition, why not just coordinate a protest outside of the detachment (signs and all)? A large gathering should draw media attention for sure which will probably include interviews for organizers to plead our case.

TouringTeg 01-08-2019 11:41 AM

Not a bad idea. Maybe a change.org one like the California exhaust laws?

Large gathering would likely result in a lot of VIs.

Derpdidoo 01-08-2019 11:45 AM

I'm thinking its best that participants use transit for a protest :D

I know you’re just joking but I disagree.

If you were to protest with media there and the police start handing out vi’s to everyone, that’s probably the best exposure you’re going to get. Obviously cars with subtle mods that technically isn’t illegal would be best

Lets start with a petition to gauge how many people are affected. I will literally take someone 5 minutes to do. I would do it but I am on the Island.

bcedhk 01-08-2019 12:03 PM

are there still active police members on this forum? I remember back in the days (as in, a few years ago) there were a couple members who were cops that gave pretty good feedback/comments on policing related topics. If they are still around, I would be interested to hear their take on this.

Are the VI rates similar in the 4x4 , trucks, supercar and campervan community?

There have been active members that have commented on the topic in other threads. They just mentioned that in their Dept doing what Cain is doing would result in suspension without pay.

As for the petition side of things, it would help as it would consider all the people affected outside of this thread. That being said many members have expressed that they are not in support of using petitions.

They hang out at the exits of Stave and do roadside checks for VI's. Those who've been busted in Ridge are usually for tire poke, plus all the other fun things off road vehicles like to install.

Here is the site: https://www.change.org/ can someone just set one up.
