What does “have all the VIs collected” mean?

True.True 01-12-2019 10:47 AM

Just saw Cain pull over a modded Mazda3 by Lougheed/Boundary.

Please refresh yourself on the MVAR amendments:

7.03(5) : Noise increase or flames prohibited
(5) No person shall drive or operate a motor vehicle propelled by an internal combustion engine equipped with a muffler or exhaust system to which is attached any device which increases the noise of the expulsion of the gases from the engine or allows a flame to be emitted from the exhaust system.

Basically if you don't want to read:
1.) Can't widen your exhaust, or have an exhaust that increases volume which can be SUBJECTIVELY ticketed as judicial precedent's has proven that officers can ticket using their ears OR decibel devices.

I don't think this is correct. There is a difference between a more freely flowing exhaust and a noise maker.

I believe this is what's not legal.

16 year anniversary of Bubb rubb. Never forget.

Collect and send all the VIs issued to "head office"

I don’t get the context though. Like does he want to see if they are legitimate? Use them to punish Cain or the public?

BIC_BAWS 01-12-2019 12:54 PM

Oh I think in that case, they want to see what Cain has been doing. It's been creating a lot of noise and people don't like noise.

Having said that, I cannot confirm the legitimacy of the request.

I think the wrong part was emphasized in this quote. An attached device is not part of the standard exhaust. Attaching something that purposefully generates noise or flames is illegal.

Opened or widened: muffler outlets are only one small part of a system of pipes. A muffler tip has not been widened if it is a consistent diameter throughout the outlet, and if the outlet is a consistent diameter with most of the exhaust piping. There is only ambiguity if you want to get really technical but you can tell the law is written to prevent people from turning their vehicles into air horns.

I'm sure an inspection facility person can determine what you're trying to get at but can a peace officer really determine on the road the difference? Just putting it out there that widening your exhaust is also under the MVAR, and increase in noise. Just my 2 cents.

If a police officer cannot properly interpret the MVA and its intentions maybe they shouldn't be writing up VIs willy nilly. That's what the entire thread is about.

Well if it's the red one you sorta had it coming... But that white one, ridiculous to get a VI.

I3Iizzard 01-12-2019 04:07 PM

That is an older Pic of my car. I got a vi after that, so now I don't have tinted tails and front tints.

He floored it and cut right behind me and lit his lights. Told me my car was unnecessarily loud. He then began to tell me that my drl had to white, and I made a remard saying that some stock cars don't have white drl. He then walks to the rear and says that my reverse lights has a hint of blue. Apparently a hint of blue is too much for Cain. I had cargo in the back of my car which makes my rear sunk a little, he tells me there isn't an inch of clearance and he didn't care if I had stuff in the back. He asked me if I wanted to take my plates off and told him he can gladly do it himself. He also asked me if I was gonna call a tow truck and I also told him he can do that himself.

He came back to my car with a $109 ticket and a box 2 to bring it to either a Mazda or a Nissan dealer to get inspected. I told him I have papers that my car has cleared inspections. He took said papers and told me he's going to pay the shop a visit and go through all their files and strip the license because no shop in BC would ever pass my car in its current condition. So he then continues to say that Ifnhe finds out that I went to the shop with the way the car is, he's going to fine them $598. If he finds out that I went in stock and then reverted back by to the way it now, he's gonna mail me a ticket for $598.

All in all, he kept acting like he knew everything and his attitude was definitely not welcoming. More condescending.

BTW, he also brought his decibel reader and shoved it into my tailpipe. My exhaust just happens to make burble sounds and got me at 105db

I don't wanna hate. But I hating now.

trollface 01-12-2019 04:52 PM

Your car idels at 105db?!?

trollface 01-12-2019 05:07 PM

are you exaggerating or is this accurate. to correctly test for decibel you need to be 3 feet away from the tail pipe, then move 3 feet to the left or right (45 degree angle to the pipe) and then 3 feet off of the ground.
