i'm really curious if his exhaust is even signficantly louder than stock, this is one of teh few cases where i give the owner reasonable doubt based on his photo of stock errthang else even the wheels and ride height

I can post a picture of the VI notice when I get home with timestamp as proof. :) Taillights are also not OEM, they're Valentis. :(

TypeRNammer 01-14-2019 11:10 AM

Just a matter of time until Cain sets up shop in front of a BMW dealership, pulling over any BMW with a M-Sport exhaust :fulloffuck:

I think he is just nit-picking at your choice of words from your last post.

To most people, a stock car implies bone stock oem from the factory. Any changes (e.g. exhaust, spoiler) will already make it a "modified" vehicle.

I knew what words I used lol, and I did that on purpose - Is the vehicle not stock "with only" the things mentioned? More like they're trying to be difficult lol

In any case, we are not our own enemy... We're all fighting the same battle for the same side.

Just waiting for summer to hit with all the meets, shows, and car and coffee. The real show will begin.

Update!
I went to Lotus Vancouver just now during lunch and spoke with Mike, since he remembers me from 4-5 months ago when I bought the car. Explained the whole VI situation with him which he thinks is bullshit as the Lotus right next to us cold starts and is 2x louder than my car. He still has my OEM exhaust! and will be bringing it to my workplace later today and hopefully one of our techs can help install it on my vehicle before inspection on friday. :) did not ask him about paying for the inspection but I think this is enough.

The "problem" is, reverting my car does not help our cause at all and just confirms that the VPD still has the power to fuck us over.

Badhobz 01-14-2019 12:25 PM

im down with a revscene troll car. i think it'll be hilarious if we get a car that looks like it'll fail the VI's but it'll pass with no problems.

Need to have cameras ready for Cain's Exhaust probe. Not just dashcam, as they could just confiscate the SD card/dashcam out.

Or we can setup an experiment with 2 vehicles. One that is completely stock with a broken windshield, terrible brakes and bald tires; and one slightly modified vehicle with legal modifications within the MVA (lowered an inch, wheels, mild exhaust).

We'll have both vehicles drive down the main roads together; Kingsway, Victoria, Boundary, etc.. and see which car would get pulled over first. :awwyeah:

Can you get someone to confirm it's over 109db before you go back? Don't get rid of evidence. I mean, you're doing exactly what he wanted to do.

Try to change your license plate asap, so at least you won't be targeted based on your plate number again.

Lettus be real, they're not going around running plates to VI cars. They're looking for anything that looks remotely sporty/moded and going after them. No amount of plates are going to save you. Take that $20 bucks and buy a DB meter and confirm for yourself that it's 109db as the officer stated instead.

bigzz786786 01-14-2019 12:57 PM

^I thought once you get flagged for VI then if they do run your plate they can do another VI if they want?

if i were in your shoes, i would take the car AS IS and have it inspected to see if it passes. it may be a waste of money if it doesn't, but if it does, oh boy, the glory!

They're doing VI's on whatever they want, as is.

VPD has authority for VI outside of Vancouver? That I didn't know, if that's the case, VPD can issue VI in Prince Rupert or Prince George.

trollface 01-14-2019 01:16 PM

Instead of pitching in for a troll car, pitch in to pay to have this FRS inspected as is. If it passes, there is actually evidence of bullshit.

yourself 01-14-2019 02:20 PM

Just a reminder, a car with a Demonstration plate cannot receive a VI Notice.

I'm no lawyer, but I'm wondering if this is a breach of charter rights....? can anyone confirm if this is true or not?

cause if it constitutes a breach of charter rights, it becomes a huge problem for any officer.

I’ll put $20 in.

IIRC unless they believe the dashcam footage is directly related to a crime. They can not seize it as property. If they wanted to use the footage against you in a normal case they have to subpoena or wtv for the footage.

That being said in the motorcycle world cops confistate gopros all the time but usually you’re being pulled over for excessive speeding or dangerous riding. Stuff in which footage would directly prove your guilt. Unlike the dashcam footage from a simple VI

Don’t change your exhaust! Get in inspected as is and pass, which you will, and then you’re the evidence needed to take this fuck down with the media
