Let's keep this thread for cars that are lightly modified and to our best knowledge, legal. Otherwise it defeats the OPs originally intended purpose. We can't defend cars with obvious MVA violations nor should we offer suggestions on how to circumvent a VI.
A truck with a level kit and 33's and projectors is the equivalent of a an e30 with lowering springs and different rims/wheels. They leave the dealership with those mods, and are sold as OEM parts.
So just in case this spreads to the island somehow...
Does this mean my mid-pipe w/ high flow cat has to come off? It doesn't stink when the car is fully warmed up. Still have my stock cat around, but it will be a PITA to install it since it's heavy AF.
I'll get my friend to ask the owner, but he posted this VW MK4 on his instagram story and the owner's friend replied confirming that it was getting a VI

Spoiler!
wtf.... let's hope that car is straight piped or has a hole in the muffler...
No way that's VI worthy visually...

at this point, it seems like cars are getting VI'ed randomly, stock or modded. It doesn't seem like it's worth your time to go back to stock if it's gonna be luck of the draw anyway.

Just a heads up for guys that are going out tonight. My friend said he saw cops on Kingsway at Gladstone, near Dollarama stopping modified cars; looks like they are giving out VIs.

Fair enough.
If I ever get it, I guess I can just go in with the catted pipe and see how it goes. If it doesn't pass, then I will put the OEM back on.
In duke's case fuck yeah. In Skunkworks case, hell no. Plus tickets you can fight. You don't have an option with a VI.
Also, I heard that you have 30 days to return the vehicle to a passable state, otherwise you'll have to pay a $600 fine. In some cases, parts take over 30 days to get.
Box 1:is instant tow, insurance is invalid on the spot and depending if the cop feels like it be will take your license plate and you won't see it again
Box 2: you have 30 days to comply and fix the issue. After those 30days and you have not fixed it then your insurance will be invalid. If you get pulled over you will receive a no insurance ticket of $600
Box 3: you have 30 days to fix the issue (more of a recommendation) most likely ask you to bring it by the police station to show the officer that you have made the necessary changes
here it is guys, hopefully we can put a stop to this !

lol, stock wheels don't change the fender gap.
Your car does grab a lot of attention, especially with a chassis wing with that message.
