you still didn't say what you got the 'warning for'. this whole VI thing, it's fine if your car is asking for a VI but the objectiveness of it all, is what we have an issue with. you're saying you were nice to the officer and he let you off with a warning even though you're way above db limit but then the guy with the s15 gets cited for non-oem mirrors (among other things, but that's not the point), this is so stupid. i'm glad my gf is understanding where she's willing to transit around with me if we have to go to van.

Note the A
What Is the difference between dB and dBA?
dB sound pressure levels are unweighted. dBA levels are "A" weighted according to the weighting curves to approximate the way the human ear hears. For example, a 100 dB level at 100 Hz will be perceived to have a loudness equal to only 80 dB at 1000 Hz. The dBA scale is based on a child's hearing and was originally documented based on actual hearing tests to characterize the human ear's relative response to noise.

weighting makes a difference. You should find out what weighting the police are using. Also that DB reader will probably read differently than what the police are using.

Everyone should get dash cams and phone cams at the ready for their interactions with the vpd. Especially now that they are making up illegitimate MVA acts

Guys, having your own meter is useless. You can't argue that with a cop on the curb, you won't win this, ever.
You can't bust out your Aliexperss DB meter and argue the accuracy of the one the force gave him. Right or wrong, you're not going to win.

So I just finished speaking with Mike from Lotus, he unfortunately cannot pay for my inspection fees as he feels that he providing me with the OEM exhaust makes up for a portion of the fault. The rest of the fault was made up when I purchased the car and we went over what had been done to it. He suggests that I asked Perrin themselves for a dB test on their exhaust and if their testing coincides with what's written in our MVA then he said "I bet you you could walk right up to that with Toyota and show them that your vehicle is legal under the MVA and bypass the inspection completely."
However, he says to get back to him after Perrin replies and he will see what else he can do. I also told him about the possibility of dealerships having to go through more effort to make pre-owned sales and he agrees. However, he wants to wait until the inspection before saying anything to other dealers.
Also got a soundclip of a Lotus Evora 400, and yeah, stock is louder than my car or just as loud.

Based on previous posts its entirely probably that I could get a VI for camber while loaded with camping gear and the family in my Element. One of the side effects of the rear suspension is that it sags when loaded and when it does, visual camber is quite noticeable. Theoretically I could get a VI, then unload my gear and be completely legal. This could be a good "bait" car deal.
Berz out.

If that doesn’t set you the fuck off you are Jesus himself. | Did you try asking for some professional courtesy approach and tell him your wife just finished a 12.5 hr shift and would suck royally to have her night end with your car being towed.
I wonder if that would work?

Should ask Cain what his DB (in this case DoucheBag) meter says when he holds it up to his own face every time he opens his mouth.

When you're given a warning you take corrective action so that you won't be targeted again correct?
So... is he going to go get the bypass removed? What was actually said? Warnings usually involve a violation ticket written with the offense and then WARNING written across it or a verbal statement of what is needed to comply. DOes Cain see him again and say "Hey I told you to make your exhaust quieter, now I'm sending you for an inspection" or do they just bro-fist and nod?
Something about this whole thing doesn't sit right. Besides that, suddenly in MONTHS of this going on Cain is reasonable to talk to and doesn't follow through on something? I don't think so. We've all seen multiple videos showing his illogical spewing of facts, power tripping and intimidation tactics and condescending demeanor.

It prob looked stock, Cain would have to had to get on his hands and knees to find the bypass, and it was closed so there would be no instruction to remove a bypass since he didn't know about it. I've gotten verbal warnings with no ticket/instruction or verbal instruction.
What does GT3 have to gain from lying to you?
I'll bet Cain is reading these posts since he's no stranger to Social Media. Good luck to all the fam in here that have their cars posted on the forum.

I wonder if that would work? | I asked why I got pulled over and he didn’t answer me and just shouted “license and registration” when I asked it.
When the situation calmed down I told him that I was just driving to pick my wife up from work at the hospital and he said he doesn’t doubt my intentions were good and it was nothing personal. It’s just that he didn’t know that my cars modifications were done by a legitimate source and that it was his job to keep dangerous cars off the road.
The main issue he cited was my seatbelts (since they are red) and he said even if they are OEM he doesn’t know that I didn’t install them improperly and I’d need to get the car inspected to prove that they were.
Guilty until proven innocent, and proven innocent at your own cost.
Not to mention nowhere in the MVA does it say you can’t work on your own vehicle.

Lol he is literally famous now for being the most hated officer on our streets in Vancouver B.C.
What a shame... When his kids grow up, I wonder if he will boast about all these "unsafe" cars he busted.
