Your car does grab a lot of attention, especially with a chassis wing with that message.

Yeah , just bugs me because i never had a problem before and now i be getting 1 ticket every 2 months. Had the car for 6 years now. :(

Oh come on. That car is begging for a VI. Plus it’s got a torque converter and a massive wing. That’s the biggest safety hazard of them all.

Box 3: you have 30 days to fix the issue (more of a recommendation) most likely ask you to bring it by the police station to show the officer that you have made the necessary changes

Is it fixing the specific issue indicated by the officer? Or is it fixing all issues?

Box 3 is a specific issue.

Box 2/1 requires a full inspection.

Unrelated but I noticed that VPD has been camping on the Arthur Laing at the HOV lane for three straight days since Monday.

Gerbs 10-03-2018 09:52 AM

^
That's what I rather have them do. Keep those who aren't HOV out of HOV.

yray 10-03-2018 10:01 AM

^except there ain't HOV anymore and it's a bus only lane.

or am I trippin?

Right after the light, and before the bridge where there is an right exit going to the airport, the inside lane turns into HOV right before the merge

Northbound.

yray 10-03-2018 10:20 AM

^yea, after the light + turn off to the airport

it used to be 3+ people but the newest sign only shows buses.

i'll report back later when i drive by :lawl:

Fairly certain it’s either Richmond RCMP Traffic or Airport RCMP doing those checks as it’s on the Richmond side.

Is it only a bus lane now? I always thought it was an HOV lane too.

Can anyone confirm this? I constantly ride my bike through this but apparently motorcycles are allowed in all HOV lanes but not bus lanes unless specifically marked.

It's not a bus only lane - if you're heading northbound, it's bus only up to the BCIT campus on the far right lane, after that it cuts back to two regular lanes - at the off ramp to the airport it splits back into 3, furthest right can either allow you to exit towards YVR or becomes an HOV lane for 3 or more people. checks are done there all the time, been that way for years now - I drive this route every morning to work, the HOV checks usually start about 8/830am (you'll often see traffic get really backed up around this time for that reason) - as mentioned above, checks are also on the Richmond side and are conducted by RCMP, nothing to do with this thread

FALSE ALARM GUYS

THE CAR WITH 3 HEADS IS BACK

^
That Golf on steelies posted previously got a VI in Coquitlam, which is RCMP... that said, the police car in the photo is an IRSU marked vehicle and their mandate is supposed to be commercial vehicles, but it’s still RCMP nonetheless... one could say it’s not just VPD on board with this if that’s the case.

Can someone explain to me what happens when you're on temp plates?

I've read before in the past people just insuring cars on temps due to not wanting a VI, and that you can put temp plates on your VI'd car in order to get it to the shop, etc.

mb_ 10-03-2018 01:48 PM

You can still get a VI on temp plates, I got mine on temp plates

ricecookerboi 10-03-2018 02:41 PM

General question, wonder if you guys have any insights.

1. If i had a VI a month ago and brought it to a shop to get it checked out and everything " CHECKS OUT". And I continue driving like that without adding any "mods".
Then... you get stopped a month after and the officer says that VI and the sticker on your windshield is not valid, "fake" and need to be ripped off, and siezes your VI paper work from the shop you did it from last month.. AND gives you another VI ontop your approved VI..... does this make sense to you guys? Is this allowed?. How can a certified VI shop be invalid....?

If any Rs'rs can clear it up for me or clarify it would be greatly appreciated.
