It's not just facebook marketplace there are a ton of buy/sell groups on facebook. You have some just for beaters others for tires or car audio equipment etc.

Ya, facebook classifieds are taking off (both the facebook groups and the facebook buy/sell). In big cities like Van where craigslist is still popular and well used I would say it's not as prevalent. But in small towns it's the go to, at least for me it has been. Best way to snag deals (especially furniture).
Well to be fair in this situation, the things he has to spend money on are stock parts. If he didn't get a VI, he would probably just continue as is.
Sucks cause exhaust noise is kinda subjective and open for interpretation so no way around the VI for that.
but for the suspension being "too stiff"
The question is, would he pass his VI with the suspension the way it is.
Same goes for the exhaust.
He may just be freaking out. Just use Joon as an example. his car was able to pass without any changes.

I found a $11,000 obo AP1(200k km) posted on FB marketplace. Sold by a lady in her late 50's. I'm sure you could have probably picked it up for sub $9k as she seemed to want to get rid of it or doesn't see the outrageous prices other people were asking. There's always random good deals on there
Strikes me as cars that would trade hands between younger people though, although that's changing over time as well.
I got a great deal on a set of coils for my wagon on there. Its fucking garbage to use though. I searched Porsche 911, and like 14 cars down was a pt cruiser, a vacuum, some fucking goalie pads, a fan, etc.
I’ve started searching Facebook marketplace more and more. Seems to be a different crowd (young people or stay at home moms) advertising versus craigslist. I also like how it stalks me and knows what I like. I mostly use the search function for keywords.
did you manage to find any custom tshirts or skin products being sold by stay at home moms?
Saw a generic RCMP SUV, but it had CVSE graphics on the side instead. Is it a new thing?

Yea I know it's for that, but it's the first time I've actually seen a marked vehicle with it. It's the direction the VPD should take in regards to issuing VIs
The CVSE always had cars like that for as long as I remember. The explorers are just govt spec so they look like the police explorers. They mostly use them to enforce CVSE laws on commercial trucks.
I see those all the time on Marine Way. Several times though, when the CVSE have the commercial vehicle blitz, they have RCMP officers hiding behind them or standing in the median targeting speeders too.

i see them a lot along United blvd near the casino.
Most of the time, I see them in their bigger GMC trucks, usually don't see them in the Explorers but I have seen the Explorers on the road.

most of the inspector CVSE vehicles are F350's so that they can store all the equipment needed for inspection. The GMC's are usually for the supervisors who tag along or to be driven to attend meetings.

Still looking for dashcam videos of your VIs. The reporter has found someone who is willing to go on camera, following a VI in which they passed with no alternations.
Thanks.

Finally someone brave enough to carry out what's been long over due! Glad this someone stepped up and committed to change this for the better of the car community, because this shit ain't right...
Media exposure is what we need, regardless of the population for or against the movement, it will still be brought up to the VPD superiors for review.
I hope this news video and possibly accompanying article will be good. We should submit it to Jalopnik and they can broadcast it to their millions of followers.
