Jesus man, Abbotsford doesn’t even use RCMP... you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about, know when it’s time to shut up and move on for a change.

Are we reaching the point where it's just contrarianism for the sake of contrarianism?

twitchyzero 02-18-2019 08:37 AM

i admit that's a big fail on my part
i only go out to Abby may be once a year and forgot they have their own force despite being way smaller than say Surrey

a blatant modification causing serious harm/death is a far more convincing knee-jerk reaction to create a blanket crackdown from top down when compared to an officer getting doxxed by a kid in a Silvia

doesn't matter if the accord ran a red/was texting etc and was at fault..the fact is the passenger would likely still be alive if it wasn't for dumb mods like that lift

I wonder what's the VI on that thing for. From the pics it only looks like it's got a fartcan and although civics with fartcans are loud, I doubt it's louder than 86db

it does have headers and an aftermarket steering wheel and its too low so any of those things could be included in the VI

westopher 02-20-2019 02:56 PM

Doesn’t look like it’s too low. There’s easily an inch gap in the front, and it doesn’t look like the lips hang below the wheel lip.

Since when did facts matter. Clearly modified = VI

a bit of a noob question.... can a VI be issued to cars with a temporary operation permit?

the CVSE website here (CVSE - VIP eForm System - Known Issues) says in the vehicles EXEMPT from VI section;
"Vehicles operating under a Non-Resident permit (Section 6(7) of the CTA) or a Temporary Operating Permit (Division 14 of the MVAR)"
-> so... temporary operating permits are exempt from VIs right????

but... from the MVAR 25.01 (2) d;
"this part applies to...... (d) a vehicle, other than a motorcycle, the operator of which is required to hold a licence under the Motor Carrier Act or a licence or temporary operating permit under the Passenger Transportation Act,"

Now... I'm not sure how this part is interpreted, for temporary operating permits to be exempt from VIs, does it HAVE to be used as a means for transporting passengers for compensation (the passenger transportation act says that it is for vehicles that transport people for compensation)...

So does that mean I'm safe if I want to drive my car in vancouver under a temp operating permit? Or am i NOT safe because i'm not licensed to use the car for passenger transport for compensation purposes?

I don't know if it changed but I got a VI in my old car in January 2014 with temporary permit

trollface 02-21-2019 02:11 PM

Why not? It's insured and on the road like any other car.

And that would be why it got a valid VI.
