From 2015, but the feels in comparison to our situation in van.

Does anyone have an email for Cain or Christianssen by chance?

Working with a media source who wants to cover the story and we'd like to get information from them.

RevYouUp 02-25-2019 10:29 PM

I believe Cain has his contact info on his photography website?

I saw that but was hoping to get a VPD official one. I'll try it anyways, fingers crossed.

Ps. No hate email here, I am working with a team to document a story for a large local social media channel that was interested in my pitch. Will keep you guys posted. I'm hoping he is down for an interview.

or have you been naughty and reverted back?

Do you need DRL if it's over 15 years old? My defender passed without them.

Vehicles built after 1989 (import or not) need DRL's

Imports that did not come with it, will need them installed.

Ah ok. That's good to know. So you can import without DRL, but to drive you are supposed to have them on (or more specifically hard wire them on).

twitchyzero 02-26-2019 07:29 AM

yeah you need it to pass before it's street legal here

They have a standard naming convention, his name would be: firstname.lastname@vpd.ca

If that doesn't work, first initial+last name or remove the period between the first and last name... it's going to be for sure one of those 3.

Did you also get an unnecessary noise violation ticket?

Since you're trying to reach him in his official capacity as a police officer, I think it would be inappropriate to reach him via his own personal and non-work related communication medium.

The VPD has the above standard naming convention, so I'd try that first. If the VPD IT staff did their stuff right but Cain doesn't have an email address like that, you should at least get an automatic error / reply from either their email server or something saying that the destination cannot be reached.

Doubl3_H 02-26-2019 10:28 AM

You can reach him via work email if you have his badge number.

Call 311 with his badge number and ask dispatch for his work place contact.

I might be able to look it up.

police officers do come out to meets, they just don't make it obvious and are more selective about which ones.

CCA-Dave 02-26-2019 04:04 PM

Oh, I'm well aware. I've had some absolutely fantastic North Van and Squamish officers show up to Classic Car Adventures events. We've had full uniform, under cover and even uniformed escort.

I wasn't attempting to paint all officers in one light, merely suggesting that I wish the current VI push was dealt with differently in downtown Van.

320icar 02-26-2019 04:07 PM

^^ though at the thanksgiving run, the police that met us at the gondola were not giving me and some friends a good vibe. Can’t say exactly why, but call it a reliable gut feeling

westopher 02-26-2019 05:13 PM

Agreed on both accounts. The Squamish RCMP looked like they were not very happy with us on that thanksgiving run. Realistically it was a very well behaved event. That said, the north van/West van events RCMP have been present as police, and as guests along with VPD and have always been great.

snowball 02-26-2019 09:52 PM

I'm not looking for cops to always be cool and show up, participate, and welcome us into their communities. The problem with the VPD is they've found a loophole to penalize anyone with a modified vehicle instead of issuing a proper ticket for a specific offence they can identify. You have the opportunity to dispute invalid tickets but not VIs and they are abusing it.
