Just got this car and went for photoshoot

Sold my E92 335i and got this CPO a couple weeks ago, so it's bone stock. Went for a photo shoot yesterday, hope you guys enjoy. It's a super rare local vancouver red F32 with rear wheel drive, all canadian bmw models comes with xdrive, so the previous owner must had some connections to pull this off. shoot locations were SFU, burnaby mountain and barnet marine park.

Good looking BMW.
Enjoy the RWD spec too. That would be my spec too, especially considering the mild weather we get on the west side.

Nice looking Bimmer!

The red really stands out

Zanity 10-09-2018 11:28 AM

Thanks you guys, I definitely agree, we get 1 week of snow here in Van, why get xdrive? It ruins handling, comes with 1" higher softer suspension and gets worse gas mileage. I really don't understand why all merc, audi, bmw, even lexus now are mostly AWD for all their canadian models, just because alberta and ontario needs it, it doesn't mean we do too. This red one also has the factory passive M sport suspension which sits 1" lower than all the xdrive 4 series on the road.

TouringTeg 10-09-2018 11:54 AM

The red really pops. It does seems like a rare color choice. The 1" lower is a nice bonus. Enjoy!

ya i really hate that myself. was rwd not even available at the time? im surprised bmw would sell someone a vehicle they werent even offering in canada no matter what the connections

v_tec 10-09-2018 03:35 PM

I know the RWD might not necessary be well stocked at dealerships, but I do see that 440i without xdrive is officially offered on bmw.ca. Is it that hard to have one ordered?

Nice colour nevertheless! Much better than the sea of black/white bimmers around town.

Energy 10-09-2018 03:44 PM

Love the red! Black accents are tasteful too.

JDMDreams 10-09-2018 03:47 PM

Don't get vi ed for the lowering

tofu1413 10-09-2018 04:01 PM

^ thats stock stance on 2WD 4er.

Xdrive cars are 20mm taller by default.

Nice car man. Melbourne Red really stands out in a sea of local white black or grey 4ers.

Make sure get a set of dedicated snow tires for this car and youll have an awesome daily machine.

the AWD>all else mentality probably makes up for the majority of sales, also theres the scare tactics employed by sales people, "without AWD u cant get anywhere in the snow", or "ull get stuck until the snow melts". then u have the group of ppl who could care less if its AWD/RWD/FWD and just want the badge.

dealers can also order in special orders which they usually dont stock, but of course the trouble is trying to find a sales whos willing to actually put in an order, wait for it to be built and shipped, and delivered to u. most sales will try and push in stock inventory just so they can close the deal.

it's a 428i lol, there's no such thing as 425i in Canada dude, I had a 335i for 5 years, and that thing was a gas hog. I chose this because I daily the car to the office, it's still 5.7 seconds from 0 - 100 km/hr compare to 435i's 5.1 seconds, but the gas mileage is night and day, i'm getting 750km per tank right now in eco pro mode with Chevron 94 Octane, same 94 gets me about 500km per tank on the 335i. Get rid of NDP and I'll get back into a 35i lol.

I guess that makes sense considering most new BMW buyers probably have no clue on how car works.

Thanks guys, I have a beater Camry for cold seasons, so won't be needing winters. Although I do need an excuse for the wife to get these wheels lol, it's the factory M Performance # 763M, I have these planned for next spring, no point to get these before winter, I normally would never get black rims coz I find them make the car look cheap, but red goes so well with black:

I hope you buy some winter tires.

don't be that guy.

westopher 10-09-2018 08:20 PM

If he's not driving his car in the winter because he has a Camry, why would he buy winters.

90% of Canada is covered in snow and is in sub-zero temps most of winter. I don't think those manufactures are going to cater to the Vancouver/Island area and the maritime folk. Try venturing outside of your lower mainland cocoon once in a while.

Lol, I lived in Calgary, Fort Mac and Toronto for years before bud, I engineered some of the treatment plants for Imperial Oil across Canada. But I grew up here in Van so I came back eventually. Don't judge people so quickly.

Nice ride
I had a hard time sourcing my red IS350 with RWD as well.
It's nice to recognize my ride in a parking lot. Turns lots of heads too

In terms of driver enjoyment/connection AWD is the worst.

RWD>FWD>AWD
