Anyone who eats, got any tips/tricks for a noob? | Psychedelic? Won't happen. Always start small. One of my friends puked eating only a quarter of a cookie as his "first time high". He is pretty small though. The high is almost exclusively "couch lock" high. You won't want to do much but sit down and enjoy music/a movie or chat for hours. I actually think this is a myth. I always am down to do stuff while high, indica or not. Same goes for my edible high.
That being said, this is a cookie from a dispensary. I've had experience with homemade edibles and they're usually much weaker. The high is very intense. You'll be more high from a weak edible than strong bud. Make sure you drink lots. One of the reasons why my friend puked was he had major cotton mouth.
Takes around 40-90 minutes for the high to kick in. Really depends on how much food you have in your stomach. Again, can't stress this enough. Eat it gradually. If you don't feel anything from 1/4-1/2 of a cookie/brownie portion after a hour and a half, go eat another quarter. You'll regret greening out from having too much of an edible.
Edibles are unpredictable. Different dispensaries have different cooks. One edible may be strong than the next. I highly recommend not to have an edible as a first time high (from weed).

I'm a big fan of edibles once in a while, and it can be pretty awesome as long as you know how strong whatever it is you are eating and also knowing how much to eat.
Best time to eat is usually a couple hours after dinner or your last meal so you have time to poop it out. I personally will eat it very slowly, like 15-30 mins to finish a cookie or brownie, especially if it is a really strong one.
That way you get gradually higher and don't get punched in the brain so quickly and get a paranoid trip.
Make sure to keep a nice cool beverage and some snacks ready because you will probably start to get the pasties and the munchies soon after.
I think what you mean by psychedelic might be hard to reach with edibles, but I do know some people (myself included) that trip out really hard once eating several strong cookies or brownies and when you close your eyes you get really vivid, strange-coloured imagination time... thing.
But yeah, be warned that you will probably wake up the next morning feeling pretty lethargic and depending on how much you ate and at what time, possibly still high in the morning lol.

Completely agree with both above.
For me personally edibles make me slow as fuck. The high is great, lasts way longer then smoking bud, but I usually just get couch locked.
I doubt you'll really get anything "psychedelic" from weed (unless its laced). Your looking for crazier shit like DMT, Shrooms, LSD.
But again, like said above, I cant stress enough that you SHOULD NOT just jump into shit. Smoking will hit you after about 5-10min. Edibles will just creep up on you and fuck you up. Unless you've done them before, and know how potent they are, and how much to eat, you could EASILY end up greening out.
(Example which afew on here will know: Had a party where a friend "didn't want to smoke" so instead he had a 1/4 of a weak brownie. It was too much for him to handle and he ended up puking for a solid 2 hours outback, then in the toilet.)
It's not fun to green out. Especially on your first time.

It really sucks when someone greens out because you have to end up taking care of the person for at least a hour when he is puking non-stop. Affects everyone around the person who greens out. Never have and never plan to green out.
I have story for days where people greened out from cookies. It seems like everyone who "doesn't want to smoke" end up trying a edible and almost always end up puking it out. Like melloman said above (no offence dlo), someone had 1/4 of a WEAK brownie and still greened out hard. 1/4 is nothing. What, are you suppose to only have 1/8? That is literally like a crumb. I have a feeling that won't even hit you at all. There is a threshold in my opinion. I tried gummies and candies and both never work for me, but 1/4 of a cookie will get me decently high. All from personal experience, so maybe 1/8 of a edible will get you high.
If anything, find someone with a vape if you don't want to harm your lungs with the smoke. Assuming you live in Calgary. If you live here, go get a dimebag and hit up the Vape lounge and try vaping it up. I never tried it myself and it also seems to give you a different high than smoking. So who knows?

heh i remember now. IIRC... i was grade 8 / 9 and i was with my buddies in his older bro's TL parked in the outskirts of richmond where the acres of farm land were. We hotboxed inside the TL and i was ripppppped
We went to 7/11 to grab munchies and i remember the paranoia feeling like it was yesterday 
fast forward once i got home i ate the entire kitchen

IF you want your edibles to be stronger simply eat it with fatty food. Or if you just want to be quick about it. Drop by your local asian grocery store that carries dried mangos and down one of them small individual packages before you down your edibles.
Dried mango's seem to work just as good as fresh or frozen.
I'm surprised nobody has tried or knows anyone with a Herbalaire
