Hey guys,

Went to Amsterdam Cafe and picked up the Pax! Like Hondaracer said, its $269 + tax = $302.

Reviews can be found all over YouTube but some stuff that you guys should know before purchasing:

Many online reviews fail to mention how warm the actual unit gets. Not hot enough that you can't hold it, but warm enough that you wouldn't want to be holding it for too long.

The mouthpiece is another part that gets quite warm as well. Best to pucker up your lips to draw.

Best heat setting I would recommend would be on high. It produced the most vapor and would probably save on battery life too.

Will test to see many draws I get from a full oven of herbs on the highest heat setting later tonight. Will update soon.

Update on the Pax portable vaporizer:

Had 2 sessions with a packed oven (they say about 0.2g - 0.25g) and got about 12-15 long draws on the highest setting. Had a decent clean head high (usually the case with vaporizing) with no couch lock feeling.

Going to try vaping a heavier indica soon and see how many draws it takes before I get a comparable high.

Honestly, I am not surprised and quite pleased to see that the owner of iMedikate is facing charges.

I support medical dispensaries that provide marijuana to those who have a legitimate need for it and have not received a federal card. Police are somewhat tolerant of medical dispensaries because they recognize the basis of the operations. iMedikate is not a medical dispensary, it's a club you pay $60 to join. From the in-house doctor, to the ridiculous gifs they post on facebook constantly, they do not operate with a modicum of legitimacy or professionalism; tainting the image of all medical dispensaries, and in turn lessening police and public tolerance for them in the process.

Not that I'm supporting them but to be fair, quite a few of them are within 2-3 blocks of a school. It was mainly people in the neighbourhood who just didn't want it there. Kind of a shame because the Renfrew location was operated by the mom and she did things quite differently vs the other location. She tried hard to be anything but the Fraser location. Oh wells, that's just how it is sometimes I suppose.

As Ulic said it feels/tastes cleaner. You are not coughing up a lung like a normal joint and just makes me feel high relaxed and laid back. Hard for me to say tho cause I have had mine for 5yrs and use it everyday (not for the past month have lots of hash im smoking)

well they were right beside a PRIVATE school which had a knack of complaining like little bitches lol, fuckin norte dame always had shit to say, and that just made matters worse i suppose, even if they were tryna their best not to sell pot illegally, that school would easily sent people over and over tryna catch em slippin

yea like i said on the last page, ive never experianced a true vape high because we always smoke joints right after so you never know what the actual effect of the vape is, i'm excited to try it out

the "taste" thing i kinda disagree with though as to me, with the limited vape experiance ive had using a volcano proably like 10-12 times, i found most bud tasted all similar, you dont get the full flavour and taste you do from a joint

Yea but with the vape there isn't the depth of flavor you get from a joint I find

i've been reading back and forth on the portable vape pages and have decided i wanted to grab one.

i've narrowed it down to the wispr and the mflb. Since it seems to be everyones #1 con, i'm really curious as to how "loud" this start-up noise is on the wispr?

Some people say its the exact same as the original iolite, some people say its only in the startup and its quite quiet, etc. I've never smoked w/ a wispr but when i played with a store model, I didn't notice a sound?


As to cost:
I've noticed on iolites website that the retail cost is now $200 for their summer sale. But i've also found this guy who's local(anyone know if he's legit?):

there doesn't need to be a depth of the "flavor" because you are getting the straight clean THC and not the plant matter and paper. It tastes great and tastes different from quality to even how dry the weed it and the amount you are putting in. It also matters which vape you have because you don't get the same quality in taste from the cheaper ones compared to the volcano.

Garbage weed is garbage any way you cut it, but the kills is when the time and effort has actually been put into the whole process, even with chemical filled unflushed garbage the actual make up of the THC that gets vaporized is very close to the same THC on killer cron

im only speaking from a volcano point of view. i cant speak for lower quality vaporizers. i find they don't work as well as the volcano.

its hard to explain.

the flavor is more... i guess yeah, u don't taste the burning of the papers or plant material.

it's more targeted.

kinda like if you had a soup that's been cookin for 48 hours or whatever, and you filter out all the little bits of meat and bone and whatever else you have in there, vs drinking the soup raw.

there's just the taste of refinement.

like you said, shitty weed is always shitty.

but if u put in some really nicely grown tasty weed into the volcano, and u vape it, the taste is even more apparent.

that being said, my favourite method is still rolling a joint (its a combination of the burning, and having something in my hands, and the trailing smoke, not just based on flavor). its almost like the same reason if i wanted a cigarette, i'd smoke a cig, not use a bong and pack tobacco. there's just something about the character of burning a joint.
