Just got my Pax in on Monday. I've got to say its met and exceeded my expectations.
First off, it's very easy to use. It's got 3 temperature settings (low, medium, high) but so far I've only used it on the medium and high setting which have both worked really well for me. I've been scaling out about 0.2g for each bowl and I can get medicated 1-2 times depending on the temperature setting. Normally I've been smoking it on medium, but if I want to take fat rips I set it to high and
If you are planning to purchase the Pax one thing you've got to do is keep it CLEAN. Like every 5 bowls you should do a nice wipedown to remove the residue so it doesn't clunk up. I've read lots of complaints about the mouthpiece getting stuck and not popping back in or out (the mouthpiece is essentially the power button) but I'm sure thats due to lack of cleanliness. So if youre kinda lazy and not willing to put in the extra 5 minutes of work, the pax is NOT for you. A CLEAN PAX IS A HAPPY PAX.
@ Jaebomb, the Pax from my research is not sold anywhere in Vancouver. I've been to and called every shop who claims they sell the Pax but they in fact do not have it in store. They keep telling me next week, or 2-3 weeks. I did find one guy on craigslist who has the Pax for sale. Claims that you can deal with the warranty through him if anything goes from etc. etc. He's selling it for $300. I was kinda skeptical so I ordered it directly from Ploom instead (10 YEAR WARRANTY). Took about 5 business days to get to me and now I'm happily vaping everywhere I go.
Yeah my bad I kinda rambled on, but hope this helps
Eh, to each their own. The Iolite is $250 in Vancouver I believe. $180 or so online. They run on Butane so its constantly gotta be refilled, and not slick at all. The other portable vape I was considering was the DaVinci. Both the DaVinci and Pax have equally positive reviews on various forums. The DaVinci priced at ~$280 is another great buy if you don't mind the chunky-ness. Vapor production is great and probably would not get as hot as the Pax. But at the end of the day, you'd be holding a black box and smoking out of a straw, and that would surely turn some heads. Whereas if I were to wrap a pair of headphones around the Pax there are no questions asked.
Can't compare the prices of a stay at home vape to a portable vaporizer. How're you gonna smoke Da Buddah in a theatre?
I basically charge this thing up once a night. In a day, I will smoke it maybe 2-3 times. I've only had it run out of batteries on me once, and that was the first day I got it. Smoking it outside in the cold seems to wear the batteries faster as well, as it needs to keep heating the herb back up. I think it's safe to say you get an hour of constant vaping without the battery dying on you. I would have to guess a full charge is about 3 hours on the charging dock.
The Pax is made only for flowers. Do not vape concentrates with it as it won't work and will clog up your oven. I've smoked some kief along with a bowl of green though and it works VERY well. Personally I have another vaporizer just for concentrates (got it as a gift, buddy thought it was meant for green) and I never even use it haha
Well, when you hallucinate, you perceive something to be there when it really isn't. I didn't see him do anything dangerous, I didn't hear him do anything dangerous. It was merely a state of paranoia I was experiencing where I felt like he was going to do something dangerous.
ANYWAYSS.... Got some PK and damn, this shit is purple
Incredibly easy. The bowl which is located at the end opposite to the mouthpiece has a magnetic cap where you just pop it off. It will not come off unless you push it out.
Like so
Yeah DaVinci is a great device, but it's just too big in comparison with the Pax. But don't just take my word for it. Read up on the different vaporizers and see which one suits you best. Another one I was looking at was the Solo (I think thats what it was called) and apparently thats a pretty good buy as well.
