Location? My younger brother went to this great private math teacher in Richmond. I don't come from a well-off family and this was affordable for us. Her husband actually taught me AP/IB HL Math 11 and 12

What is it that you are looking to achieve with this? Do your kids need a bit of extra help with the current math curriculum? Or do you simply want them to be ahead of the curve?

I don't want to over-complicate this, but my parents put me through Kumon/Brainchild to help me get ahead of the curve, but it did not help me with the math curriculum I was currently in, and I struggled a lot. I wished that my parents got me a math tutor to help me with the school material, instead of putting me into a storefront math program. My parents weren't able to recognize the difference, but they know now...some 20 odd years later.

Thanks for the input M.
Looking to get them help with current curriculum, this ahead of the curve shit I don't believe in. I never received tutoring (or help from parents) I paid attention in class and still got top marks. Mind you I know the curriculum compared to then is different (basics the same) and nowadays the distraction factor is out of control (we didn't have all these portable electronics back then).
So ahead of the curve? ... I just want them to be ahead of my beat down if they don't do better

Spoiler!

A buddy of mine is a high school math teacher in East Van. He also is a math tutor on weeknights and weekends.

Although he has a big list of students now for math tutoring, he might be able to help your sons.

His standard hourly rate is 60 dollars per hour. Send me a PM if you are interested.

Good ol' Asian parenting. :fuckyea: Looks like you know what it is that you need for your kids.

I am of the opinion that material to help your kids get ahead of the curve can be helpful, but it really depends on the individual. One of my siblings is a product of this process.

Would be so much better if they got math lessons during jiu-jitsu classes.
What's the answer?
Wrong... Go spar with blackbelts until you get it right....

My wife is a specialized private tutor but covers subject support as well. She is competitively priced but not cl type pricing. Let me know if you want her info as she likes to do in person consults.
