| Board games for travelling
Gf and I wanted to not be stuck on our phones and reading a book ain't interactive. Yes bringing an ipad is ok, but I wanted to have a few board games that's fun to play.
1) easy to carry (not like dungeons and dragon)
2) if it's 2 players and easy without instructions that would be great (eg// shapes, numbers and not language specific, eg// domineos & jenga)
suggestions?
this is a great one (aside from the big board) but i think this one is fun and I've tried.
this is classic; all tiles no languages and just dots. even my grandma can play |

Just bring a good ole deck of cards where there's infinite number of games from big 2 to strip poker. It's portable too.
Or just get a Nintendo Switch. My wife and I have a ton of fun playing Overcooked.

Pocket Dungeon Quest isn't too big and is pretty fun.

I have a small leather folding crib board that the case also holds a deck of cards. It has been all over the world with me - even playing with people where neither of us know how to speak the other language, but they knew how to play crib. Caveat - the metal pins that stick into a piece of leather on a string look like a mini-bomb in an airport X-Ray and security will take a keen interest in you.

Boss Monster. Plays up to 4 players. It's like Munchkind, except the roles are reversed and you're the monster.

Math is math. The only issue i am weak at for crib is that I don't actually play at all which sucks...
i really gotta learn it.

i really gotta learn it. | It is a very easy game to learn and play. Once both players know how to count their cards properly, a game can be over in under 10 minutes. You don't need the board, you can keep score with a pen and paper, but the board is nicer to use as you watch your opponent and attracts others' attention if they wish to play. You can also play 4 person cribbage and the games go quickly.
Tried to Google some, but only finding expensive ones. I'm sure mine was bought at a travel novelty shop. Mine looks like this, but all leather (or fake leather): https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Travel-Cribb...Tcw:rk:24:pf:0 |

You should look into card based version of board games. You still have the same gameplay mechanics, without having to lug the whole board around https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/2...ns-board-games
Something like that should be what you're looking for.

A deck of cards
If you like poker/big2, try playing open face chinese poker. No poker chips involved, just use pen/paper to keep track of score. This is an action strategy game with lots of draws. Each game takes about 5-10 mins.

Think of it this way. An ideal game would be to be able to play on a plane.
Dutch Blitz is close to near borderline... I'm seriously going to consider crib and really good for the mine as its just numbers.
