Nail in Tires Where is your go to place to get a puncture fixed? Got a nail in one of my tires and it's leaking air out - should I take it to the dealer or an independent shop or Kal Tire? Any suggestions? What's the cost I should be expecting for this? |
Go to Kal tire skip Costco and the dealer. |
Just make sure they fix it properly, no just patches or just plugs. Also make sure they don’t charge you extra for balancing, it should all be included. For reference, Costco is 11.99 plus tax, that includes everything. Though if you want it done in any kind of timely matter just put the spare on yourself and bring in just the wheel and tire lol. Or else get out your calendar |
anywhere but Costco if you care about your time BibleThump |
I had a nightmare experience trying to find a tire shop to look/remove a nail in my tire a few weeks ago. I thought of calling them first thing and going in the first thing in the morning but they were booked full. A lot of places were like we were busy, we can’t slot you in. A local Kal Tire said drop off my car and they will work on it when they have time and I could pick it up just before they close. |
put on a spare and just drop off the tire cheaper too |
You can do that? Haha never knew - just walk in to Kal Tire and let them know of the nail and roll the tire in? |
yep, had ok tire charge me steel tire pricing instead of alloy wheel pricing |
I had a nail in my tire a few weeks ago so I called Kal Tire and they booked me in same day and repaired it, didn't even charge me for it. Tires weren't purchased from them either! |
Took it into Kal tire when this happened to me once, they took care of it for free |
Last time I checked, The Speed Syndicate actually charged less than KalTire, and TSS also uses a touchless system. |
I've brought a mix of family vehicles to Kal Tire for Punctures. Never paid once out of the 10 or so times going. Never purchased anything from them either. Also note this is the busy tire season so lots of shops are going to start getting booked up and busy for winter tire swaps and installs. |
