Sure, except for O'Toole praising Kenney's pandemic response back in July

Exact words: "Premier Kenney has navigated this COVID-19 pandemic far better than the federal government has"

Comment aged like fine milk.

If Kenney's COVID response is O'Toole's idea of a great job, then we'd all be fucked right now.

40000 Syrian refugees welcomed into our country. I'm sure people will be on both sides of the coin with this, but it's pretty funny that the people that put this on the "bad side" are also using the human rights of afghan interpreters that were left behind to criticize Trudeau, even though they don't want refugees from the Middle East here.
On the same token, what's worse?
We know identity politics is plaguing the country (I think its reasonable to say thats a worldwide problem)
Inflation (a combination of fiscal policies involving CERB and the pandemic, idiots spending all of their money at amazon instead of local stores, low interest rates, and worldwide inequality rising. It's certainly not a Canadian problem exclusively)
Ethics scandals (100% Trudeau and Liberal failure)

As a straight, white, middle class male, the negatives of harper may have been easy to not acknowledge, but you know, Canada isn't just us.

Do I think Trudeau has lived up to expectations? Absolutely not. Am I happier with his performance in comparison to harper. Absolutely. Do I think any party will enact meaningful positive change in the next term? Libs, maybe slightly. Cons, absolutely there will be negative changes. Everyone else? In a hypothetical world where NDP could have power? Fiscally? I'm not sure about for me. Maybe for those with lower income. Environmentally, absolutely.

Seriously if you oppose same sex marriage, you don't belong in Canada. Being actively against it is just about the most un-Canadian thing I can think of.

Maybe it was true back then? Hell, people praised Australia at one point and then it went down pretty quick. People praised BC and Dr. Henry ... then at one point, we went over 1000 cases/day ... shit moves so fast ... it's all politics to try to attach Alberta's shit to O'Toole. If anything, any politician that uses the plight of AB for their political gain is an ass.

If it was universally praised and then in hindsight did not work out...sure.

But I'm pretty much most people did not see it that way.

He kind of disappeared from the limelight, your comment made me look into it, damn he's had a rough year!

To cons working abroad is bad.

A lot of good points made, and refreshing to hear ie: questioning the reasons for holding the election, the framing of the debates focusing on climate change and reconciliation during a expensive economically crippling pandemic, the unchecked governance and spending, the ridiculous platitudes of land acknowledgments and flags at half mast for over a month rather than real fixable solutions like the decades old problems of providing drinking water, the seemingly dominant problem of limiting and narrowing of discussion, etc.

Oh ya, let me get my politics from the guy who believes that women wearing "red lipstick" should be harassed in the workplace for trying to look sexy :lol

That guy is the Jesus for incel white men that are mad at the world because women won't fuck them. Fuck that guy.

As for Rex Murphy, do a search on that guy's articles on the NP, he's an old conservative party shill. He writes gems like these:

https://nationalpost.com/opinion/rex...on-his-enemies

I used to work for a lobbying firm for the BC Liberals back in the day, this old cook would show up to any podcast/rally/conference for a cheque, spewing his angry garbage to an audience of old white haired boomers.

Also, fuck that guy :lol

Jordan Peterson has led the way for the absolute dumbest, shittiest, uneducated, moronic losers to believe they are smart by way of disagreeing with anything by trying to "poke holes in logic" while providing no reasonable answers, or intelligent discussion for any topic.
He truly is the pied piper of pieces of shit.

PeanutButter 09-17-2021 11:24 AM

I want to see NDP take power just because they never had it before.

I usually vote blue, but I think i'm going to vote Orange this time, just because I want to see what Jagmeet can do.

Bouncing between blue and red doesn't seem like it actually does much.

I can't believe i'm actually thinking of voting NDP. I don't think I would have ever thought I would do it.

whitev70r 09-17-2021 11:31 AM

^ you can vote orange but you won't see Jagmeet in the PM office. C'mon.

Don't forget that Rex Murphy has also written a piece about how racism doesn't exist in Canada (or that it isn't that bad - whatever that means) because he has never experienced racism himself.

Absolutely trash.

With every seat he gains the more power he has in a minority government.

Looks like Jagmeet is feeling the Burn.

I think that's a fair point. My riding has been Liberal forever, so I don't think if I voted NDP, that would really move the needle.

I'm just so indifferent these days.

Whether it's liberal or conservative, I don't really see a difference at this point.

I know it's not entirely the same, but that's what Americans said back in 2016. Look where that ended up.

68style 09-17-2021 02:52 PM

I said the same thing to a friend the other day and he pointed out some of the CON platform pieces and I was like shit you’re right, took my early voting card thing and went and voted.

I’m pretty sure CON will win my riding in Richmond but at least I can rightfully bitch about it if they do hahaha!

Anybody in Vancouver Centre vote for Hedy Fry again? Has anyone even seen this lady in public in the last 10 years?

9-time incumbent (28 years!) octogenarian who's never held a Ministerial Cabinet post. First time in my life I voted against her party just so I might be able to see this Liberal Placeholder put out to pasture. I swear to god, in a few years we'll see the ghost of Hedy Fry on the ballot.

Manic! 09-17-2021 05:43 PM

I early voted last Saturday. 40 minutes in and out. Would have easily been 5 if not for Covid. Oh well. Only thing harder to deal with was the ballot card itself. PPC and Communist members on the card but no Green party LUL

Pretty nauseating last day of campaign ... parties must have saved quite the stash to play attack ads for the push.

Go out and vote if you haven't.

Go and thank our egotistical entitled PM for having to do this! .
