A lady in line behind me was making a big scene about how polititians should provide free parking at voting stations or comp the parking if they want her vote. She ended up leaving and said no one worked enough to deserve her vote.

There was also a bunch of people that try to talk to the volunteers there saying they have to be at work and can't afford to line up. So they try to see if they can skip. Really not sure what they expect, this isnt the airport security lineup where your flight is about to leave without you.

My location also had a seniors line up kind of. The volunteers would scope out the line up and pull seniors out to the front of the line so they didn't have to stand the whole time.

Why didn't these idiots just mail-in their votes if they are going to make a fuss about lining up. They had every opportunity to do so. Fucking people these days just love to complain.

bcrdukes 09-20-2021 12:12 PM

We took advantage of the advanced voting option and were in and out in 5 mins max. Nobody made a scene and there was no drama. :okay:

Traum 09-20-2021 12:24 PM

If people don't want to wait in line, why didn't they vote during advanced voting? There are always a couple of days' worth of it, including some days on the weekend. I did mail voting this time (as I did during last year's provincial election), but in the past when I did advanced voting, it was always a very, very quick experience with a minimal number of people, and there were always more voting staff than there were voters LOL~

9-time incumbent (28 years!) octogenarian who's never held a Ministerial Cabinet post. First time in my life I voted against her party just so I might be able to see this Liberal Placeholder put out to pasture. I swear to god, in a few years we'll see the ghost of Hedy Fry on the ballot.

I know what you mean. The liberals could run a racoon in Vancouver Centre and still win.

Manic! 09-20-2021 03:59 PM

Really long lineup in Nanaimo but only took 14 min. Had to deal with a guy who was parked in a pick-up truck blasting no one by Alicia Keys on repeat. Thought the guy was dead or on drugs. Went to talk to him. Had to yell a few times. Found out the guy is sad and would not turn it down.

Voted this afternoon, literally no line up, was in and out in 4 minutes here in North Burnaby :lol

There's literally no point advance voting in my area, never had to wait in a line up in my entire life whether Provincial or Federally.

Thank god we have a nationalized voting process, every election is nice and easy.

I still can never fathom how some have to wait 5-8 hours to vote in parts of the states, the fact that that's still happening should a national outrage there.

My prediction is a Liberal minority, once again. NDP will get more seats then last election.

westopher 09-20-2021 04:47 PM

I think con minority. Bloc seats skyrocket. NDP picks up a couple. Wonder what's going to happen if libs do win minority again. Of course the theories of election fraud and conspiracies will be circulating.

whitev70r 09-20-2021 05:46 PM

My guess - Cons get 1 seat more than Libs. Libs and NDP form a coalition and ask GG to let them govern.

If there's a possibility for the libs and NDP to form a coalition, it will 100% happen.

That has never happened the party with the most seats has always governed. The problem with a con minority is who will work with them to pass a bill? He can put forward a bill that the NDP will like. Jagmeet said he will work with anyone that will tax the rich. But that will cause him to lose support. His only other option will be to call another election.

Infiniti 09-20-2021 06:27 PM

Projections saying Libs stay in power.

Tegra_Devil 09-20-2021 06:37 PM

Looks like libs win

Alpine 09-20-2021 06:49 PM

Great. Another 600m for the exact same outcome. I guess we can expect the same circus to happen in another 2 years. What’s another 600m? /s

Manic! 09-20-2021 06:55 PM

Good news Mad max has lost again. I wonder how much he pays himself as the leader of the party.

Perhaps that's the cost of democracy.

Tegra_Devil 09-20-2021 06:57 PM

Hopefully this puts an end to PPC. What a redneck waste of money

That money is not a complete waste because it goes back into the Canadian economy unless you are cons who like to hire companies from New Zealand and Europe.

How do the conservatives move on from here. Tool tried to go to the left and failed and if they go more right they would fail also.

westopher 09-20-2021 07:12 PM

LOLFUCKINLOL at Maxime Bernier's "victory" speech.

Tegra_Devil 09-20-2021 07:15 PM

I still think the cons shot themselves in the foot by not voting leslyn Lewis as party leader

whitev70r 09-20-2021 07:45 PM

For point of reference, the number of seats by party BEFORE this election are:

Libs - 157
Cons - 121
Bloc - 32
NDP - 24
Green - 3
Independent - 1

So let's see how different the results are.

I laughed at that commercial every time I heard it on the radio. God damn, $15 bucks a head. I could have bought a Bic Mac Meal and a sundae. Instead I got to vote. Little disappointed in a minority either way, either party. Oh well. One less Peleton ride without the Big Mac.

I tried to do mail in, but it showed up quite late so we just dropped them off at the same place we normally vote. Quick and easy.
