I’d say a rule of thumb is that over 75 or so you no longer have the stamina to fufill what’s required of a public office role. Nor are you likely “in touch” which the needs of the constituents.

Well the examples posted, that old lady, I wouldn’t think so too but if you read the article the city apparently prospered like crazy with her in charge

Did you like all the young hipster ideas Gregor brought to Vancouver? :)

underscore 04-30-2022 10:58 AM

In a council it's probably not a bad idea to have a spread of ages for a bunch of reasons. You don't want all old people but you don't want all young people either.

Representation should be related to demographics in Canada if we really want what's best for our population. We really just have a bunch of rich people in politics trying to decide what's best for us poors and it's clearly not working.

The problem is the rich are the only ones with the free time to run.

I know why it happens, I just don’t like it.

and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is
powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many

would explain the power of what’s going to happen and
he was right—who would have thought?), but when you
look at what’s going on with the four prisoners—now it
used to be three, now it’s four—but when it was three and
even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger;
fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they
haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now
than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about
another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators,
the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just
killed, they just killed us.”

biden may be getting senile but trump at his best was/is still a dimwit

Hondaracer 05-02-2022 01:41 PM

So there’s some article that popped up on my Facebook feed about this 101 year old woman thay wanted to keep her job at the airport or somthing and they finally agreed.

So typical me I waded into the comments and the first one is somthing along the lines of “United has plenty of 80+ year old flight attendants and they are amazing!!”

So I reply, given the requirements of a flight attendant and having them responsible for evacuation and the safety of passengers I’d it’s bordering on negligence of the airline to allow 80+ year old flight attendants If thats actually the case.

Then people just storm my comment saying “omg you’re so wrong!!! Etc etc”

lol fuck

The big difference between trump and Biden is who they have surrounding them.

trump was surrounded by yes men who would run around like a bunch of shit rats when trump would say something stupid like hurricane Dorian was on the path to hit Alabama.

Biden on the other hand is surrounded by a bunch of very smart people who are willing to speak there mind and Biden is willing to listen to.

Okay.

He's trolling :lol

Or has to be at least.

For as old and "senile" Biden is, which by the way in his 2 years as president have we seen any real examples to show he's out of his damn mind? I can't recall any.

Trump's presidency was a total dumpster fire, juxtaposed, Biden's has been quite regular and benign. An effective, and typical, corporate Democrat.

The two years of Biden can be summarized in one quote:

“The only man who never makes mistakes is the man who never does anything.” - Theodore Roosevelt

What a stupid comment lol.

Know what else Roosevelt said?

“This country has nothing to fear from the crooked man who fails. We put him in jail. It is the crooked man who succeeds who is a threat to this country.”

abortion rally to assemble on Parliament Hill
OTTAWA - An annual anti-abortion rally is set to converge on Parliament Hill today, a demonstration that typically attracts thousands.
The March for Life protest comes as the re-emergence of the landmark Roe v. Wade case in the United States brings renewed attention to the issue on both sides of the border.
Anti-abortion group Campaign Life Coalition spoke Wednesday in front of the Supreme Court of Canada to discuss the implications of the leaked U.S. Supreme Court decision.
Pete Baklinski, director of communications for the coalition, says the leaked document has made the issue of abortion "suddenly explode" in Canada.
Josie Luetke, youth co-coordinator, says the coalition expects that Roe v. Wade will eventually be overturned, representing one step toward "abolishing abortions" in the United States and across the world, including in Canada.
A counter-demonstration by abortion rights advocates will also take place near Parliament today.
