^ The cost of fuel for the trip came in at $248,127.02.

This is why we need to leave the commonwealth ... who the hell needs a GG? Don't even get me started on the last one, Julie astronaut.

If not the GG it would just be some other Canadian diplomat by another title...

Hondaracer 06-15-2022 08:01 AM

Cut ALL those positions, cut the pensions, etc. this shit is fucking absurd

The woman who was ousted as GC after 3 years has a 4 million dollar pension..she gets 150k a year until she’s 90, she gets 200k a year in govt. expenses after leaving the position, and that 200k continues 6 months after she fucking dies to do whatever she needs in terms of flying people in for her fucking irrelevant funeral.

Blow this shit up.

Great68 06-15-2022 08:07 AM

Cut all diplomats? LOL!

You're smart enough to understand that foreign relations and envoys are necessary to keeping us relevant on the world stage right?

68style 06-15-2022 08:11 AM

Well... I mean... if you want to be North Korea, that shit works fine. Trump was kinda starting to do it with the USA too... North Korea never has to send anyone to anything. But........... they're also getting a lot more jobbed by their politicians than we ever will be, so there's that too.

Do they need to go to expos? With an entourage? Buying $15 glasses of orange juice on tax payers dime?

These people are just scum that have sucked their way into these positions through influence. If you revamped the entire system to get people who actually want to be there as opposed to finding a way into to simply obtain a pension I guarantee you everyone would be better off.

Yet we have people like stolen Valour Harjeet who can be defense minister then just be shuffled into some other cabinet position he knows nothing about because he’s already part of the establishment? This shit is a fucking joke regardless of who is in power

68style 06-15-2022 08:46 AM

Aren't the caterers on the govt planes also crazy overcharging though? I see that as a big mis-step too. Peter stealing from Paul.

You can say literally the same thing about management at any private company too... why they steal all the profits and everything else lavish and have these huge golden parachutes when they lay people off and pay shitty salaries to everyone below too right?

It's a human nature problem.

There's the 1 flight they mentioned, I forgot who now, but her and everyone that went with her spent nothing. That's what I would be like if I was in that position... but then how long do you do that when you coworkers aren't and you're like fuck why am I being so cheap when nobody else is. It's a culture problem by people in positions of power.

I even know all my friends who are in sales or travel for work... they max their expenses out any possible way they can, obsess over points collecting and just take advantage at every opportunity, take receipts for lunches or dinners you go on so they can claim it when meeting up even though it's got nothing to do with their work. It's gross.

Hondaracer 06-15-2022 08:50 AM

Private companies aren’t the federal government.

Great68 06-15-2022 08:57 AM

Imagine sitting around a table with a bunch of high ranking officials from other countries and being like "Sorry, I'll just have the water, We (Canada) can't afford the orange juice"

ahhahaha

Even funnier if the envoy from Somalia was all like "It's ok Canada, I'll cover you"

Hondaracer 06-15-2022 09:03 AM

That catering amounts to $2000 a person.. for 15 hours of flying.

I 100% guarantee you it does not cost Emirates or Qatar in their first class suites that much to wine and dine their passengers. Not a chance.

But once again with this govt. it’s hehehe oh well

I realize that, but at the end of the day it’s all us proletariats being ripped off either way by exec culture.

Why does the G7 or summits even happen at all? Really? A climate change meeting that requires everyone to fly to it? Do we not have FaceTime or any number of zoom meetings nowadays?

My buddy is in mining he just spent like a week+ at some Salvador Dali art hotel in Switzerland while we’re all getting gouged left and right for raw materials. Just gets passed on down to the end consumer of their products and blamed on rising costs or supply problems.

Hondaracer 06-15-2022 09:32 AM

Yes, but you can choose not to partake in that. Outside of maybe internet access and groceries you don’t have to be engaged in the profits of private enterprise.

We are forced to be at the mercy of the govt, these people doing these things. There’s no choice.

68style 06-15-2022 09:37 AM

I see your point, sort of, but I don’t agree.

The flip side of that is how do you get effective executives in government then if there are no perks when private has tonnes? They’re all just going to go to private sector and you’re left with morons who need to hold up their finger to know which way is left or right.

Nobody is altruistic enough to serve the public just so they can sleep at night knowing they served the public, which is what you’re asking for.

You forget about Bev Oda?

https://www.revscene.net/forums/6670...a-scandal.html

Spoiler!

Lets not forget about Sheer who was making 300K tax free a year living in a pax payer funded mansion but still could not afford to pay for his kids private schools and his own clothes. so he had his party pay for it. The party gets funding from tax payers.

Traum 06-15-2022 10:22 AM

I kind of feel like we are both paying those massive perks while still having morons that that wag their fingers while chanting "Do what I say, not what I do"...

Hey JT~! Have you recovered from your 2nd round of COVID yet?

Again, I don’t care about which party they are from. Fuck this whole thing

If the bitch wouldn’t be staying at the Savoy on her own dollar during a personal holiday etc. she sure as hell shouldn’t be staying there on the tax payers dime.

There probably are, but they aren't going to get anywhere because that's not how you get the support you need to make it in politics.

whitev70r 06-15-2022 01:06 PM

For once, I agree with Hondaracer ...

Hondaracer 06-21-2022 11:55 AM

Of course it’s never about public safety with Trudeau, it’s just about political theatre:

RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki tried to ‘jeopardize’ mass murder investigation to advance Trudeau’s gun control efforts

Poilievre pandering to the lowest common denominator. How are we even still talking about this? Is this guys strategy of channeling Maxime Bernier and gunning for the 4chan crowd really the direction the cons want take their party?
Quote:

But he called vaccine mandates “unfair, unscientific bullying” and said he encourages “everyone to keep protesting government attacks on our freedoms.”
“I support all Canadians who peacefully stand up for their rights in protesting the Liberal Government’s vaccine vendetta,” Poilievre said

Manic! 06-21-2022 02:48 PM

People like Poilievre don't care how they win. He would throw his whole family under the bus to become P.M. Every single stance he takes is based on how many votes he will get. The guy is a weasel.

westopher 06-21-2022 03:14 PM

I agree with you, but I don't think it's a strategy to pay off. People don't care about the pandemic anymore, and they certainly don't give a shit about people protesting for freedom related to the pandemic as life is essentially as normal now.

68style 06-21-2022 06:08 PM

Imagine the people he’s pandering to trying to pronounce / spell his name

Better just change his slogan to vote for PP :lol

westopher 06-21-2022 08:02 PM

PP really suits the PPC.

It is unfortunate the news media doesn't do actual journalism anymore.
