BREAKING: Patrick Brown disqualified by Conservative leadership organizers

https://nationalpost.com/news/politi...rown-from-race

Looks like PP is going to win the leadership race.

68style 07-05-2022 07:19 PM

Hahaha PP be like hey guys I’m your default leader… the only one they couldn’t dig stuff up on in time!

westopher 07-05-2022 07:30 PM

Cons are going to do it again. Alienate their moderate voters and give a massive portion no choice but to vote liberal.
Split the party up for fucks sakes. Make another reasonable centrist party to compete with liberals and let the cons end up with the PPC.

It seems like that is the kind of guy Patrick Brown has always been -- his organizing + mobilizing skills have been one of his forte, and many believed that was his ace to the leadership race.

It is really a shame that Brown got DQ -- he seems to be a pragmatic moderate that could do well for the Conservative Party. Mind you -- I don't think he was going to win the leadership race even if he was still in it. In fact, with him being DQ-ed now, Jean Charest would likely have a much better chance at challenging Poilievre since there was a lot of overlap between Charest and Brown in terms of policy and supporter base.

I would not be surprised if some of browns staff where signing up people and then reimbursing them for the cost.

I wonder if PP is going to bring back the barbaric cultural practices hotline?

westopher 07-06-2022 10:36 AM

I’m gonna be fucking chapped if “Christian values” become mentioned in our politics if the cons get in.

I think the Conservative strategy is this:
- They know that a slight majority of Canadians are probably suffering from Trudeau/Liberal fatigue. Most federal governments don't survive more than 3 elections.
- There's enough outrage in places like Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit (and other forums) where they can count on the support of blue-collar, lower-middle income Canadians and perhaps disenchanted millennials who blindly put their faith in Trudeau 7 years ago to give them a house, relieve their student debt, and solve climate change.
- Make peace with Francois Legault and state that a Conservative government would not challenge the Quebec government's Bill 96 or Bill 21 and dress it up on the guise of supporting provincial autonomy/freedom

It could be enough to squeak in with a minority of seats.

Brown afraid PP will turn the cons into the GOP.

PP has a former trump adviser working for him.

Over 95% of public servants are vaccinated and have signed their attestation confirming so. Its such a non-issue.

I know of 1 lady in my entire office who didn’t, and she doesn’t even deserve to be employed she’s one of the worst public service employees I’ve ever seen in my life, so if she got a free 4 month+ holiday out of this whole thing it’s going to really get everyone going.

Pretty clear correlation to the shittiest people you have to deal with at your job also being the shittiest people you have to deal with in society.

JT mobbed at the Calgary stamped

68style 07-10-2022 07:47 PM

Surprised anyone can get close to him after what happened in Japan

CivicBlues 07-11-2022 07:41 AM

Didn't want to say it, but looks like mostly non-whites

Bouncing Bettys 07-11-2022 07:55 AM

All these glowing reports with similar headlines from the government-funded media on Trudeau's stamped visit, yet no video?

westopher 07-11-2022 08:08 AM

Oh a video of one guy yelling traitor, that was actually mentioned in the article. Thanks for the clarification. Always with the hard hitting news.

Bouncing Bettys 07-11-2022 08:38 AM

An organic and spontaneous "mob" of JT supporters just happened to manifest at an unannounced 6am visit at the Stampede? I have a bridge to sell you.

Hondaracer 07-11-2022 09:47 AM

Lol yea everywhere he goes there’s nothing but protests and yelling yet in Calgary at the stampede of all places he’s welcomed with open arms and allowing people to get right up to him? Seems suspect

He’s looking hella “boss” though in that cowboy hat and flannel

westopher 07-11-2022 10:05 AM

I mean, he has enough supporters that he, you know, won the election to make him the prime minister, so it’s not that hard to believe that there are enough supporters around to make him look good every once in a while.
Stampede isn’t just a redneck rally. Most people there are just normal people going to get shitfaced and listen to terrible music.

Hondaracer 07-11-2022 10:15 AM

Most people who voted him in seem too embarrassed to ever publicly admit it though. Maybe it’s that stampede liberal mob mentality lol

westopher 07-11-2022 10:20 AM

Most people who voted liberals will pretty openly admit there was no other choice.

NDP wasn’t a viable option, con’s easily could be if they’d fix their internal issues with people who belong in the PPC or to somehow join the Republican Party.
People get starstruck for anyone. People even get excited to see Chad Kroger for fucks sakes.
Idolizing politicians is fucking embarrassing for whoever you support. Look at the pp suck fest that goes on at his rallies.

Most people who voted him in live in Montreal.

If you mean voting Liberal, I mean they're basically the natural governing party of Canada for the past 150 years. Why would anyone try and hide the fact they vote Liberal? Are you seriously going around saying you voted for Andrew Scheer's Conservatives? Jagmeet Singh's NDP? Bernier's PPC? You'd probably be laughed at behind your back in mixed company.
