The funny thing about the “guns aren’t the problem mental health is crowd” is that they actively vote against parties and push back against legislation that would address or provide access to mental health programs anyways because it’s all just snowflake issues, until some middle class white guy is the perpetrator.

mikemhg 09-09-2022 10:16 AM

I've always hated that "mental health" argument. It's an insult to people who actually suffer from it.

Not every person suffering from mental health decides to go shoot up or stab a bunch of people, it takes a very specific individual to do that.

Such individuals shouldn't be lumped together under the umbrella of those with otherwise benign mental health issues, it adds an unfair stigma to those people.

The gun issue will always be an ease of access issue.

This particular crime if anything is an indictment of the reservation, and to a degree, justice system.

A PQ candidate in Laval in hot water

A public informant informed the Mail Laval concerning the participation in a porn film by Andréanne Fiola, PQ candidate in the Laval-des-Rapides riding school.

For someone who has been involved in politics since the age of 16 and on her 3rd campaign she would kno better and know nothing is anonymous online.

westopher 09-10-2022 05:31 AM

I don’t get why it matters. Porn isn’t illegal.

68style 09-10-2022 08:44 AM

The only way it should bother anyone is if she has a platform that preaches against it and is being hypocritical… otherwise have at it.

Nothing wrong with her making porn. But why did she think she could hide it? You would think by now people would know nothing you post online is anonymous.

mikemhg 09-10-2022 11:28 AM

Anyone find the video? Need to milk the cow here.

Better question is why is she in a position she needs to hide it. It amazes me how many people who spend their weekends jerking off to porn will spend the same weekend insulting the women that make it.

Hondaracer 09-10-2022 12:06 PM

She had to hide it because the world is full of Manics?

The real question is her decision-making process. At age 22 this is her 3rd time running and if she wins she will be a part of the process that makes laws that will affect a lot of people.

Why did she do it in the first place? Why did she think no one would find out it was her? why did she think she would be able to remove it completely from the internet? What about the other 2 in the film? don't they have a say? Seems like they have been wiped off the internet.

whitev70r 09-10-2022 04:30 PM

No real surprise ... Pierre Poilievre won the leadership of the Cons on 1st ballot.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/con...ults-1.6578329

Poilievre easily clinched victory with an impressive 68.15 per cent of the available points on the first ballot

Charest got just 16.07 per cent of the points allocated in this preferential ballot election.

Why does she need to answer why she did it?
She thought no one would know it was her because she was masked.
She tried to get rid of it from the internet because some people seem to believe that someone who fucked on video isn’t capable of making laws that will affect a lot of people? I don’t understand the relevance of someone in porn making them incapable of having positive effects on those around them.
Again, why are people demonizing sex work when 99% of the population are customers?
I’ve never banged a hooker, but if she’s smart, she’s smart and she should be able to do whatever the fuck she’s capable of regardless of that experience.

Scott Galloway bringing up some interesting points on what leads to men being in crisis. Each case is unique but there's definitely institutional elements at play. I'm glad I did not grow up with social media. The most techy thing I had in my teens was a 'personal digital organizer' with random NFL trivia inserted within the programming :lol

Being a marketer, I can't help but think Galloway contributed to some of what he's preaching against.

Gross! Disgusting! We deserve better from our elected officials!

What's the link to the video so I can make sure to avoid it?

This is her 3rd time running so clearly she wants a career in politics. What made her think it would be a good idea for her to make a porn on the DL. Good thing it was caught now before she was elected because this is how politicians get black mailed.

I hate this guy through and through, but these incomplete Twitter posts don’t help to get rid of him… the quote is compressed from what he actually said and should note it was from 2008 not a recent comment if they’re going for transparency.

I’m not excusing PeePee but the opposition to him needs to be air tight in its criticisms.

highfive 09-12-2022 09:51 AM

haha first time seeing someone referring Pierre as Peepee. hahaha

Can't wait for more anglo saxon speeches by him.

Fuck man...our politics is becoming more like the states. It's basically scripted WWE television.

You think a liberal arts grad who got a full government pension at the age of 31 and who has never worked a hard day in his life is going to be better?

If you work for a living he will fuck you over.

https://cupe.ca/statement-cupe-pierr...rty-leadership

Quote:

Statement from Mark Hancock, National President of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), on Pierre Poilievre winning the Conservative Party leadership:

“It’s too bad that, unlike Andrew Scheer, Pierre Poilievre does not hold American citizenship, because he would be right at home as Governor of a state like Alabama.

Pierre is a career politician who has been collecting a six-figure salary on the public’s dime since he was 24, and he’s spent every minute of his time in office fighting against fair wages, good pensions and a better life for working people. He is not a worker, and he definitely doesn’t get what it means to be a member of the working class.

Pierre has spent his leadership campaign making the Conservative Party a cozier place for far-right extremists and conspiracy theorists in order to sell memberships. This isn’t your parents’ Conservative Party, or even Stephen Harper’s Conservative Party. It’s now Pierre’s Convoy Party of Canada.

His leadership will be a disaster for working people in Canada.”

Right here!!

In my eyes he's the lessor of three evils, I think he could do some great things if given the chance. He will put Canada first and not by sending our money across the world like JT has been doing for the last 7 year. As well Hondaracer isn't wrong about Canada being in a Liberal dictatorship now..

That's exactly what trump said he would do. I can understand why a liberal arts grad would think it's a good idea but it's a terrible idea.

Oh yeah I'm sure the racist, homophobic, fascist sympathizing, career politician crypto bro wouldn't fuck up the country at all.

Did anybody who thinks he's a good candidate listen to his speech?

That nonsense about people being able to buy homes and cars again?

Come on, regardless of your leanings, what person with any level of sanity believes a politician who says that? How? He owns what is likely a very, very nice house... in fact he probably owns several houses... he's going to give up 80% (or whatever) of the value of his home(s) blowing up real estate prices so that all the schmucks out there can also buy a home?

Seriously? LIES for the STUPIDEST low income loudmouth people to eat up. Nevermind the fact he's a candidate for the Conservative Party, who, amongst other obvious leanings, at least says it's a fiscally conscious party and purports to be interested in individuals having better ways to retain their personal and accumulated wealth. Yet there he is calling out to mouth breathers all over the country saying he will make sure they can afford more shit even though it would require people like himself to lose some of their shit in order for that to happen. It's downright laughable that anyone would believe one single solitary word coming out of the man's mouth.
